Yes I am watching GMTV I'm abit confused if PIP is non means tested which means not Taxable
Why are they Targeting it ?

Brilliant ๐.

Non mean-tested benefits can be taxable. For example, the State Pension and CB-ESA. PIP is not currently taxable but that might be a way ahead.

She said the Pip system isn't working and U.C system isn't working? And yes you are correct she mentioned Work. They definitely want as many people as possible to get back into to work. Then say "but we will listen to the voices of the disabled "

Even in Opposition, Labour was beginning to "forget" that PIP has nothing to do with employment status. I can't work out their game.

Yes as usual avoided the Crucial Question as they always do on cutting pip or not
Plus on Line Shopping is a massive factor
Within 5 to 10 years time there will be no Vacancies
Due to on line Shopping

I just watched her on GMB and am still no clearer as to what exactly they are planning to do, again very vague just like always. Are they only targeting fraudsters or will they be snooping on all our bank accounts at all times? The most worrying thing was her answer towards PIP, or her non answer about cutting the benefit, to which she said could not be ruled out. It seems this awful government are hell bent on taking away benefits and PIP payments from those who need and deserve it most, even though they say they're listening to disabled people and charities, what a load of lies. It's all about cutting the welfare bill and nothing to do with genuinely helping sick and disabled back into work, disgusting policy, disgusting right wing labour government.

I think they can use that word so easily 'Voluntarily' because there comes a point where you have no choice?

I know their focus has to be about the stability of the countries economy. But health is key to everything in life and the Dwp is very flawed when people are not seen to have the disabilities they have and treated accordingly. It is even worse when you have fight through a system and navigate it with health problems whilst the Government decides the possibilities of taking these very things away without even being clear, leaving everyone guessing.

She was vague about the plans, because Labour don't intend to release any details until the Spring. I know that's frustrating for us, but perhaps they haven't actually decided themselves yet.

@Kimmy87 yes maybe they might leave it right till the very last minute

Its a subject that infuriates most people, it's almost like they can't get the fit, abled lazy blighters to take jobs, so let's start on the disabled, ****.. the amount of migrants ect coming into the country claiming benefits+ get housing of sorts ( not all)
Get them working, get the lazy fit people working first.
The whole thing is a mess.
They are approaching in the wrong way, they should be investigating and overhauling the system first before targeting the disabled. Though I do agree there are many claiming that shouldn't be, so get that sorted first, clean up the system first, get it right, ..

PIP isn't means tested

They have been ordered to save money from those currently disabled regardless...they keep saying they'll consult with disabled but they are obsessed with getting people into work I.e blocking the benefit

Thats what I said pip no means tested but I've been hearing rumour they want to to means test it ๐ก

Oh they just want to cut the bill and have decided that disabled on PIP are fraudsters or shirkers and should work...they are totally focussed becuase it would solve the fact they cant create jobs by msking it the fault of disanled...its tragic

I don't think they will cut or stop pip.I think they are changing the descriptors making it EVEN harder to qualify in the first place. Those who are not already on pip who have been rejected like myself although who are long term sick and disabled will be 'urged' to 'volunteer' to work.Work coaches via the U.c system and local authorities will 'Support' disabled people by engaging regularly and 'listening' to their views and voices and making sure they are heard and valued.I think those who have mental health problems who have not engaged with a support worker will be assigned one and talking therapy for an alloted time with the end remit being a work placement.( just my thoughts)

The means-test could remove PIP from many working people and actually prevent them from working. It would begger me because I live off PIP, CB-ESA, and my savings.

@Kimmy87 I inclined to think they're out of their depth and don't have a clue how to proceed especially with PIP.
There's no mention of changes to DLA for children or AA for OAPs and those costs have risen too. It is senseless for a 16 year old to come off DLA and not to receive adequate PIP. It could determine whether or not a young claimant can work. Older claimants might choose to drop their claim and apply for AA.
I often think of the most disabled people I've known. Nothing could reduce their financial needs or get them into work.

Thanks for sharing this @Jane315STARX. I'm going to try and find it on catch up after I finish work. ๐
