The Telegraph

I've just read the headlines on "The Telegraph" that Liz kendal has been forced to shelve £3billion Benefits cuts. I'm no Telegraph reader, and I'm not seeing the entire thing as its behind a pay wall. I did see however there were hundreds of comments, also I can't get to read those. Would be interesting to see their thoughts. I'm sure they are less than favourable towards us.
Anyway if anyone can find out more it would be a bonus.

interesting thanks for posting.
If she is getting nervous and already dropping things that's a good thing.

@Doglover2 and @Nightcity have yous seen the news about Health Minister, Andrew something or other, Denton MP being sacked? Disgusting comments re hoping a 72 yr old constituent who wrote about her bin collection saying he hoped she would die soon, and another comment about another constituent that they'd hope they go under a truck. They disgust me. Also sexist remarks about Angela Rayner and racist about Diane Abbott. I think they've all (Starmer, Reeves, Kendall) shown utter contempt for the elderly and disabled/sick with their policies and rhetoric. It's scary to think if that's how they collectively think even if most wouldn't dare say, actions speak louder than words. Stopping the winter fuel allowance instead of working out how to make it fairer was despicable. I would never have qualified anyway but got double pneumonia (no heating on prior to Xmas) but the thought of much older people suffering the cold in their own homes is terrible to think about. They just all disgust me. Sorry, think I said that! Most definitely a former Labour supporter. Sorry for rant.

Funny how this is only in The Telegraph. Would've thought it'd been picked up by other papers as well. If this is true, then it gives us some hope.

@Ironside1990 it's on a few other sites too.

Absolutely shocking yes, Something very wrong with someone like that.

@Santosha12 Yes indeed I saw that, shows the calibre of what kind of morons we are up against. You'd think they'd get wise. It's just hateful rhetoric. They can all sit around laughing at it in the Jolly good old boys club.
No regard for the hurt they cause in any direction.

@Doglover2 and @Nightcity it makes me wonder whatever announcement is made in Spring with the Green Paper etc, regarding benefit changes, which of them in the Labour Party (many of whom could be decent people) will show some backbone and oppose, despite the challenge then to their own positions. It will be interesting to see.

I also really feel for the 72 yr old lady whom his comment was directed at. If someone said that about me I'd be very upset and it would make me feel even more vulnerable. A very sad state of affairs. Even Starmers' comment in response about 'them being committed to providing service to working people' isn't lost on me 😐

@Santosha12 To wish death on anyone is a very low blow.
He'd best be very careful what he wishes for.Karma usually dosent miss the mark and things can backfire.
As a Buddhist I believe in karma totally. I do not wish ill on anyone but let's leave his rather quite sickening comment to higher powers.

As I said elsewhere, Boris & his government said & did much worse during Covid or is that all forgotten/forgiven now? !!
I'm sick of all politicians of whatever colour flag they're under, they care not a jot about anyone but themselves & any good ones don't stand a chance. I believe in karma, but it seems to me, most are Teflon coated.
At least what has just come out about the £3bn cuts is good news…for now!

A few weeks ago our prime minister went to Kiev and signed and agreement to support that country for 100 years (this is a fact, however ridiculous it seems). Of course, we will continue to supply weapons and munitions at no cost, but among other things agreed, the U.K. will guarantee an annual cash payment of £3 billion. This is our welfare being given to the most corrupt regime on the planet. Since Trump took office, he has demanded an accounting to the $175 billion cash given to the regime. The president in that country has publicly admitted that he and his officials have no idea where $100 billion has gone. Everyone needs to contact their MP, their dedicated charity, such as Diabetes U.K. and demand that £3 billion per annum needs to stay in our welfare system and not poured into that cesspool in Eastern Europe.

Do you think the DWP losing in court, had a part in this? There was plenty of backlash from Disabled people and charities, saying it'll push us into poverty.

I think these whats app messages that have been exposed are merely the ones that have so far been 'handed over' by the daily mail. The media as always have Huge control in politics as so many politicians act and behave in ways like this pillock.

@Summerlove I emailed mine a while ago re my situation for my Last pip renewal, was totally ignored.
First time in my life I tried to get help from Him.
Not a peep back.
I hold little value to them. Tbh you only see them when they want votes.

@Ironside1990 Yes I guess there's been a possible impact from the court ruling.
It let's them see nothing everyone will go down without a fight.
They have to expect strong opposition from the sick ,disabled and charities.
All help is needed and appreciated.
