Well there has been a health minister sacked tonight from labour for amongst other things saying they hoped a non-labpur voting oap died before next election

The Conservatives said the messages showed there is a "rot" in the party that "needs fixing".
"There is a clear contempt for pensioners in the Labour Party," said Tory party co-chair Nigel Huddleston.
Which is quite ironic considering what was said & done by Boris & his government during Covid.

I'm quite sure Starmer won't get an epiphany Apple, or any of the front bench. The right have a strangle-hold on the Labour party + they've made so many enemies with the public now I don't think they've a hope of getting back in, what with Reform snapping at their heels. I suspect the real problem is they don't have any real "labour" values at all, they're cozying up to big business + investors just as New Labour did, and they're making policies to feather their own nests. Take Streeting for example and his grand scheme to involve even more private health companies into NHS work. Bet he goes straight into a plush private health job straight after he leaves politics… And apart from Raynor, who amongst them have had the slightest conception what it's like to live in poverty? Most of them haven't a clue.

okay personally this is what i think should be passed on to the powers that be in government. before you can even think about starting to get those people with disabilities who use a wheelchair or a small mobility scooter who are able to work. the infrastructure needs to be put in place. firstly 90% of the railway stations in the uk need to be made disabled friendly along with ensuring there are enough staff to man the ramps. secondly all buses in the uk need to be built to the same design as the london buses with a center ramp and disabled bay. and lastly all wok places need to not only be accessible but also have disabled toilets. it seems to me that the government have put the proverbial cart before the horse, and we are all going to be punished for something that is of the governments own fault through a total lack of foresight and planning. i cannot help wondering if scope or any of the other charities have brought this to the governments attention during their discussions.

That’s exactly what happened to me. Random phone call from a im assuming nurse but idk, at 4:30pm I chose to answer it. She started off the call with ‘I can see you’ve sent 10 pieces of evidence so I just wanted to ask you a couple of quick questions’ making me think that I was going to be accepted basically. Whilst I was home alone with my child who was calling me over and over obviously I didn’t want to answer personal questions about my mental health and behaviours and she acted like she understood and was sympathetic but stupid me can’t express what I need or mean I should have said no I can’t talk about this now. Which is one of the reasons I applied cos I can’t communicate properly and get my point across.
I don’t ever answer my phone normally and the only reason I did is cos I googled the number and my partner was out id normally have given the phone to him but obviously I couldn’t.
The report they wrote has genuinely devastated me and they know that there’s a safeguarding risk with my history and they chose to completely lie and screw me anyway. Genuinely it’s like they’ve written it about a stranger they don’t care at all what they do to people. I heard before that they do things like this but it was 10x worse than I could have ever imagined. God knows how long it’s going to take me to recover from it all0 -

Thankyou very much for your kind comment and advice. I think it would be one thing if I was rejected because I didn’t meet the points on genuine information but it’s the lies that really got me but it’s with a case manager now and I’m waiting to receive the report and my form etc from the DWP then I’ll be taking it down to cab with my partner and letting them deal with it this time. I’ve tried doing a SAR with my gp to access my medical records for more evidence but not sure whether I’ll be able to cos I don’t have any recent photo ID. Thank-you again hope you have a good day x

This seems to be a global trend - discrediting people with mental illness. For example, in Russia they plan to allow people with certain mental illnesses to be recruited into military service, which was strictly prohibited even during WWII.

I'm currently waiting on a mandatory reconsideration, that was begining of January and have been told they "will make a decision" by the 25th of April
Ive struggled to send evidence in, as I cant get a doctors appointment (all appointments are booked by 8:15 in the morning) and struggling to see someone at cab.
I fear the changes they are trying to bring in and lack of support they will give us all.
I have wrote to my local mp for help (he's labour) and not going to lie, pretty useless aswell.

And who benefits from the sky-high rents?? Yep, fat landlords… UC don't even pay the full rent a lot of the time, or you're forced to live in a damp cold uninhabitable hole in order to get a rent they'll pay for. And on top of that some councils charge council tax to those on UC (and my bet even more will do in the future). They reckon a third of all on UC are getting deductions for money owed with bills etc. So they don't even get the minimum amount (full UC) to live on. Youngsters are leaving the country in droves…

Good luck BonClay, hope I don't add to your worries but I've had the same med assessments etc. My suspicion is they could be dragging their feet waiting for Reeves's announcements, and hoping things will be harder for us then. I wouldn't wait for the result, contact CAB if you haven't already and go through it all with them + clear with them whether DWP can base their consideration on new regulations or whether they must adhere to the ones they have now. If DWP can get away with new regulations, ask CAB what else you can do to strengthen your case. If you do this now you'll be prepped before DWP spring anything nasty on you x

Same as here Catherine, everything closing, empty shop fronts everywhere. The only shop booming here in the High Street is Poundland. Tories have smashed this country up. And yep, Labour so far aren't making any difference

i think if you factor in what they can claim also for being a local mp doing very little for there community its an extra 1000 plus a month

Im struggling as it is to get out to places and keep a calm mind.
I've tried ringing CAB but they tell me I need to come in and book an appointment be fore they can discuss anything, I used to get support for all of this but it got cut where I live.
I know it won't help but Ihave emailed all the mps involved in this godforsaken mess and mostly there assistants just try to brush you off.
