Hi all.

I had my PIP telephone assessment on 24th January. I requested for it to be recorded but apparently the assessor couldn’t get onto the system to do this - I recorded it myself.

I had been awaiting the text from DWP to say they had received the assessment as I want the PA4. A week passed and nothing. I contacted DWP who just said they hadn’t received anything. I was told to contact Capita, to which I did. They said is was still “processing”. I rang last Thursday - 13 days after the assessment - the lady I spoke to said she would raise this to her manager and hopefully get it sent to the DWP by the weekend and if I don’t receive the text to ring them back on Monday.

It is now said Monday and I phoned Capita this morning. They said my assessment had been audited and that there is a note on my file for it to be expedited as quickly as possible - I am unsure how true this is.

This has only got me thinking the worst. I had read a lot about needing another assessment and even assessment being altered while being audited. I don’t think I can physically or mentally cope with another assessment.

I was first awarded DLA after a tribunal as a 10 year old child. My second claim as a 17/18 year old, I was awarded high rate personal care and high rate mobility indefinitely. When I was moved over to PIP, I was awarded enhanced mobility and standard care. And I’ve been awarded that for the last three reviews.

I have had new diagnosis’s every time I’ve had to apply for DLA/PIP. My conditions have never and will never improve.

Has anyone else had “positive” outcomes after an audit? Or is it all downhill from here?

An audit means they are checking the assessor did their job correctly, which they do when the assessor is new. It doesn't mean it's a good or bad thing, it just means it's in an audit. Many people are awarded after an audit.

My daughter PIP report was sent to audit when she first claimed in 2017 and it was there for 6 weeks, she was awarded Enhanced for both parts.

There's no timescales how long it will remain there and putting notes on your file for it to be returned ASAP isn't going to help. It will remain in the audit until it's completed. Hopefully it will be returned soon. Once it's returned a decision can take up to 12 weeks.

Thank you for your response. I didn’t believe her when she told me there’s a note to expedite it - I think it was them just trying shut me up.

I’ve read too much into it I think, but this process is never easy.

Thank you for your comments, it’s reassured me to hear from someone who has been through an audit themselves.
