Hi From Cornwall UK. Just had total right knee replacement with extra long pin for greater stability (knee was a bit wobbly) . 80 years old with heart and other problems, but suffered long enough. Had procedure on 6th February, just been home 2 days. Still swollen and painful, if I manage all the prescribed exercises even 2 X day I'll consider myself lucky!

    Hi @jakx, welcome to the community. Hope your recovery is going okay! I think there's a few members on here who have had knee replacements so I hope they say hi 😊

    Enjoy your time on the community, we're a friendly bunch if I say so myself!

    Thanks, my big problem will be completing all the exercises 3 times a day through the pain barrier with a swollen leg. Be interesting to hear how others are doing

    Hi

    A very warm welcome to you.

    Recovery from a knee replacement can take time for the swelling to go down.

    Look after yourself as much as you can and keep up with the exercises and pain killers.

    You could also use cold packs to reduce the swelling.

    Wishing you well in your recovery.

    I need help badly, hopefully Poppy can help. I migrated from Income related esa to UC & went through ID at job centre, had a letter for telephone interview for commitments but the letter stated contribution based when I have been on Income related with SDP for years. I'm panicking cuz I'm am confused. I get housing benefit too. The number seem correct & received the 2 week payment after applying for UC. Now I have had a rent payment the usual way 4 weekly & £200 also a few days before my UC payment is due, the UC online shows a deduction of around the right amounts but is that going to happen every month. Is this an error & I worry it will end in a yr, how am on contribution based when I have been to ill to work for years. Can anyone help me please

    You have posted this on someone else's thread so Poppy may not see it.

    You need to ask your question on a seperate thread under help with benefits then the knowledgeable members will be able to help you.

    @universalcredit

    I hope that helps you.
