Being told to attend face to face at job centre or claim will be closed because of PIP back payment.

Because it is below 6k after the PIP disregard.

oh ok thanks - I was confused because I thought your 12 month pip disregard had finished .

Thanks again, that is very useful.
It refers to reopening a claim after it's been ended due to employment (earnings), but may still work in the same way if cancelled by the claimant for personal reasons.
It would be fairer if that also applied when cancelled by savings going above the top threshold, but so far that is not the case. I wouldn't be so concerned about this situation if it was.

I’ve had to update my journal with new capital and have got a message saying they’re booking me into jobcentre to see proof of capital.

Not you as well. 🙁

I’m so stressed about , someone said they’ll come with me . I’m gonna have money left over every month and I will be able to do this every month . What can I do ?

Sorry, I don't really know what to suggest. As I keep saying on here, I update mine every month and it just gets done automatically without any acknowledgement, let alone needing proof.
If I was asked for proof then I'd be putting messages in the journal to say that I physically can't manage it (which is true in my case, I have not been able to travel for years now) but it does seem like they may be tightening up on this across the country now. I'm not that far away from the £16k myself now, so I could manage for a while if I lost UC due to this. But that really isn't the point, we get LCWRA because of our limitations, which should be taken into account by benefits services and adjustments made accordingly where necessary.

I just can’t deal with it all, I’m glad they’ve not asked you .

Thanks for letting us know, so same for you then. Also sorry you also affected, they shouldnt be needing to make it this hard.

OverlyAnxious I dont think I would be hitting 16k, at the 6k threshold my council now fully cut off council tax support without tapering, so I think with the UC deductions as well, I would level off before then, especially if LCWRA cuts happen.

My council cut off CTR at £10k. I'm also getting around £100 a month capital deduction on UC. But even with those, I'm still getting enough excess to put me over £16k by the autumn unless my situation changes dramatically in the meantime. (Or changes to LCWRA or PIP happen, or UC cancel my claim because I can't manage a personal visit for bank statements.)
If I can move before then, then it should level off and reduce the capital by spending on furniture and white goods etc. But currently I'm having to plan as if I'm still in this flat for the forseeable future.
