Tbh we won't really know until the Green paper comes out. All these articles are giving out mixed messages and making things worse. The green paper can't come out quick enough.
The times is pretty reputable, though. The daily mail is just a rag paper.

The Times again being briefed by Labour, it's bloody sickening how they keep briefing them or "leaking" to them. Labour are just spiteful cowards at this point, they know exactly the hurt and worry which is causing people and they don't care.
What a spiteful group of nasty cowardly bullies, making the most vulnerable in society who are already on skidrow even further up the creek.

Honestly I just give up, if it wasn't for my grown up daughter and my cats, I just go.
My conditions are going to get better. It was through working I developed one in the first place. My main pip enhanced is my struggle with autism. My daughter the same, she works been through abuse through the years, seeing my mum die, losing my sister and brother within 2 years. I have ptsd. Now this. The stress is causing my conditions to get worse.

I suspect the story was leaked to The Times to see what the reaction would be. The fact that they can't guess is the scary part. If you asked Kendall what will actually be in the Green Paper on Tuesday, she almost certainly couldn't tell you 100%. The reaction has obviously taken them by surprise hence last week's delay. How little this crew know about their own party and voters is staggering.

I feel you. I have autism and mental health conditions. I've been stressed about it for the past couple of weeks. I don't think they will be allowed to do it, the courts will have a field day with them. Its disability discrimination. I feel like the gov are taking us backwards in terms of equality.

I just read it thanks. Bloody hell

I read MPs who were called to the number 10 meeting weren’t given any real details so they don’t have any reassurances. If that’s the case what does it mean for the times article ? If it’s true then they must all have some idea as it seemed rather brutal

Interesting article from BBC, it doesn’t mention anything new or specific, just talks about potential factions within Labour over this. It sounds like much of the support comes from new MPs who are essentially eager to please their glorious leader.Aka more eager to please Starmer & co than their own constituents, many of which are disabled…

There is much in what you say re new MPs. Of the 35 who signed the pro-Starmer letter, Phillipson (she of the purple hair!) was the most well-known. NOT the party heavy-hitters to say the least. One MP later asked for her name to be removed too!

From Daily Mail...
"But from now on, applicants will need to score at least four points on at least one activity to qualify for being considered for a payment. The need for a hearing aid does not meet the threshold.
Those who need help to wash their hair or body below the waist would not qualify for support - but those who need help to wash their upper body would. Needing help going to the toilet would meet the threshold - but those who need reminding to use it would not.
Those who need help cooking a meal would qualify for support - but those who could use a microwave would not. Needing to be reminded to see people face-to-face would not be supported - but needing help to actually have those interactions would.
Applicants who get the four points needed to qualify for being considered would then need to get another four points on top of that to get the lower rate - and another eight to get the higher one."
Thankfully, for the moment at least, I still qualify for the higher rate as I still meet the criteria and I'm also half way through my ongoing award (or light touch 10 year award) but I just hope I will not have to be reassessed again as that's just a waste of money surely...

I don't understand why The Times is free to access online this weekend when it is not normally free to access.
Something fishy going on.

Maybe The Times are against the changes and want more people to see it and be outraged and protest or maybe the government want to get a better feel for the backlash

Worth reading if you haven't already. The message, I think, is that we should not get disheartened - the appearance of quiet in the next few days does not mean this has all been agreed. Possibly a long haul ahead though.

The Times has had open weekends before.

I’m wondering if labour leaked the story to the times to see what the reaction would be . This way they can make changes and deny the report was ever true. If they are bringing those changes in regardless why not just tell their back benchers . I just watched an interview with an MP called Emma ( can’t remember last name). She said she didn’t know about the changes suggested in the times but if they were true she couldn’t agree to them . Labour are disgusting , leaving us worrying so they can test the waters imo

unfortunately it wouldn’t let me read it all as I don’t have a subscription. Could you possibly screenshot the important parts please ?
