Please hang on in there with the rest of us. One step at a time, let's get tomorrow over with and then decide what steps need to be taken. You are far from alone

You’re welcome ❤️ I know exactly what you mean, and it is really hard. I’m trying to switch my brain off as much as I can tonight. It’s not working!

It's difficult to know what she means but her admission that some people simply cannot work is a positive sign.

please listen to me.
Many years ago I attempted suicide because of the DWP ironically it was Labours 2008 changes.
Now I am a stubborn defiant bas**** and won't give them the satisfaction of worrying in principle and I've also realised over the years that you stand your ground and won't budge they'll give in.
NOBODY especially those clowns are worth it 💛

starmer will be the last ever labour prime minister and will go down in history as the man who killed labour.make no mistake if the green paper is as bad as whats being reported then its clear for everyone that this is a party thats so far from its roots its unrecognisable and will start losing its core voters.these cruel cuts are disgracefull and will push millions into deep poverty.

I am so so concerned about these reforms. I worked for a while, but got bullied bad which irritated my mental health and I discovered I had Austism which caused issues. I got so frustrated with things I self harmed and OD'd , just wasn't getting any support and mental health declining. Was eventually signed off on medical grounds and got a pension out of it (first review next year which I'm also terrified about), it's not quite enough so benefits helps. I just know at the minute because of the way I am and still on waiting lists I'm definitely not able to return to work. I dread ehays coming tomorrow and the possibility of having to go see a bully work coach who will use any excise to sanction you. I really hope that something happens tomorrow or there are grounds to fight this through the courts.

I echo that completely. Stay strong Martin. I'm in the same situ as are many people. Don't leave this life as we don't know what's on the other side. Keep the faith. And I also think the way it's going they will have to back down on a lot of what they propose to do. Just stay strong mate. Please.

There's a really key/significant difference.
The Covid vaccination/boosters came at a time when, as a healthcare worker I felt a responsibility to patients - as well as myself - and very little time plus no research/knowledge out there to know the effectiveness.
(I caught Covid again in Jan 22 and was very unwell affected lungs badly causing scarring/chronic difficulties).
I guess my health after Covid in Nov 2020 was pretty bad but it has now become extremely debilitating. I'm just trying to survive and am definitely averse to anything making it worse. I understand they were starting to see some good results from the current trial which is good news and promising.
What I would expect as a minimum is complete transparency about any adverse effects experienced by the 70 people it is, I think, undergoing the current trial as that information will be available to the research/trials team. Those kind of results would likely be known by next year. Hopefully.
If there was not that transparency then I don't need to fret at all as I wouldn't participate. I also won't know if I meet the conditions of the trial for months yet and I may not be able to meet them so I have to keep a pragmatic state of mind about it versus excitement of a 'cure'
I think what 12 years nursing has taught me is to take ownership of my health (and lack of it!) and any and all decision-making relating to it will be mine alone. I won't readily hand over my own autonomy to any healthcare professional or research scientist without being able to make an as fully-informed decision for myself as possible.
I'm going to remain cautiously optimistic. I appreciate your comment - it enables me to reflect on my own thoughts about it and the possible challenges.

Please get those thoughts out of your head. If changes happen, they will not happen imminently. The problem is that the media have made this so much worse by speculating over the last few weeks and with todays lack of confirmation, in my view, I don’t think they have finalised all of it as would be having to change parts of it to get the MPs on their side.
Take a deep breath, grab a cuppa and put something on the TV, not the news!
Hold on in there.3 -
interesting updates on the guardian. Kendall asked if it would be better to stop reassessing ppl who have life long disabilities instead of putting them through stress . She replied she agreed to a lot of what he said and wait until tomorrow.
Timms was asked if he can reassure people with amputations , schizophrenia etc. he said he thinks she’ll be happy with the outcome tomorrow.
My memory is poor but I think that’s correct. Sorry I don’t know how to copy and paste . If anyone can check out updates on the guardian and give us their opinion would be good .8 -
we only have Tory’s now just different parties

A lot of posters here picked up on this, who decides?
Like Professor of Every known medical condition Wes Streeting's comments on the Sunday show about overdiagnosis.
His key objectives should be.
- People forced out of working due to needing Surgery or other treatment are fast tracked in the NHS
- Long Covid is real, Many LHB's wont talk about it owing to the old "Never admit liability"
- They keep saying the UK is the worst affected country to recover to pre pandemic levels
who was the Party and PM at the time? the ones who made such a mess its left a legacy of misery. No Reeves came in with her stupid Fiscal rules and its meant the money needed to be spent on the NHS to stop people who had jobs now forced to rely on Welfare the figures are there, Just like the ones on Brexit.
The UN warned the World to prepare for a mass disabling event post pandemic and it was totally ignored, When you see posts from former consultants who are now relying on PIP when they were on 500k Per year, Yep that's a lifestyle choice. They put money into support for long covid and a treatment plan and they will be Global leaders and something to be proud of.

From "The Guardian":
Kendall hints she can see argument for Pip claimants whose condition will never improve not facing reassessment
Jeremy Wright (Con) asks Kendall if she agrees that, for people who are receiving Pip (the personal independence payment, a disability benefit), if their condition is not going to get any better, it would be “sensible to relieve them of the burden of that reassessment process”, unless they want to be reassessed.
That would be “less distressing for them”, and would allow officials to focus on assessing the people who need reaassessment more quickly, he says.
Kendall says she agrees with “a lot” of what Wright is saying. She urges him to be patient, and to wait until the plans are announced tomorrow.
Under the current system people who receive Pip, which can be worth more than £600 per month, are supposed to have their entitlement reassessed from time to time.
The government is expected to tighten the eligibility criteria, making it harder for people to qualify, but it is not clear yet how long it will take before the new rules apply, or before people already getting Pip have to face reassessment.

it seems like they will target people with mental health problems , I struggle daily and get a lot of help from my family but just recently my mental health support worker had to close my case because she said they are only allowed to support people for a short period of time . So I’ve lost that support . I feel there really isn’t much help for people with mental health anymore . I was first diagnosed with emotional unstable personality disorder 30 years ago along with other diagnosis with mental health . All these talks of changes have made me worry so much .

the guardian are reporting that starmer is going to drive through these changes and has ignored his mps.
