    From "The Guardian":

Kendall hints she can see argument for Pip claimants whose condition will never improve not facing reassessment

Jeremy Wright (Con) asks Kendall if she agrees that, for people who are receiving Pip (the personal independence payment, a disability benefit), if their condition is not going to get any better, it would be “sensible to relieve them of the burden of that reassessment process”, unless they want to be reassessed.

That would be “less distressing for them”, and would allow officials to focus on assessing the people who need reaassessment more quickly, he says.

Kendall says she agrees with “a lot” of what Wright is saying. She urges him to be patient, and to wait until the plans are announced tomorrow.

Under the current system people who receive Pip, which can be worth more than £600 per month, are supposed to have their entitlement reassessed from time to time.

The government is expected to tighten the eligibility criteria, making it harder for people to qualify, but it is not clear yet how long it will take before the new rules apply, or before people already getting Pip have to face reassessment.

it seems like they will target people with mental health problems , I struggle daily and get a lot of help from my family but just recently my mental health support worker had to close my case because she said they are only allowed to support people for a short period of time . So I’ve lost that support . I feel there really isn’t much help for people with mental health anymore . I was first diagnosed with emotional unstable personality disorder 30 years ago along with other diagnosis with mental health . All these talks of changes have made me worry so much .

    More from "The Guardian":

Minister refuses to say disability benefits for people unable to work won't be cut

Stephen Timms, the social security and disability minister, told MPs that the welfare reform plans being announced this week would be designed to help more people get off benefits into work. But some people would always be unable to work, he said, and “we are absolutely fully supporting them too”.

The Lib Dem MP Liz Jarvis asked about two constituents worried about the cuts. Could Timms assure them that disability benefits for people unable to work would not be cut?

    Timms replied:

I am concerned about the level of anxiety that has been around over recent weeks … and I’m sad that that has happened, and that people have been concerned.

But the system was failing people it was supposed to help, he said. He said that, when Jarvis saw the proposals, she would see they were designed to address this

I honestly feel that at the end of it all, people that cannot work and are too disabled to do so, will NOT be forced to work and WILL be protected

That's concerning. Am I understanding this wrong or does that sound like that part has already gone through and will definitely be happening?

Well said. Yes. I've just switched off the news and put on Dr Who. Trouble is the Daleks seem quite reasonable in comparison. lol. I'm only kidding. But yes, best to wait and see and avoid leaks and rumours.

"The net result is likely to be significant changes to Personal Independence Payments, aiming to reduce eligibility for the highest levels of payments, especially among those of working age with mental illness."

Oh that made me laugh re 🐄 🤣. There is a scientific reason for that, I guarantee I'll get a migraine from a storm (too windy) or a thunderstorm too. I can't remember the name of it but it's a change in the air/wind pressure affects my blood pressure. I normally would be able to explain this without trouble 🙄 it's a wonder I don't get a migraine from my eye rolling.

I was mistakenly diagnosed with coeliac disease 2 years ago, went on a very expensive gluten free diet for two months then told its not coeliac.

I'm on the BRAT diet too often than is good for my mind (banana, rice, apple sauce and dried toast) and have done many fasts (24 to 36 hrs).

I hope you do not have to wait too long for your intolerance testing.

According to the Serbian press, as I recall, USAID and MI6 tried to implement this practice in their interests in the elections in Serbia and Russia to weaken the positions of the ruling parties. You invented the wheel).

I’m sorry for posting this in case it’s upsetting for people to read — it’s not anything we don’t already know, but it might be helpful to read it directly from the source and not from out of context quotes elsewhere.

Labour MP David Williams, referencing his constituent who was "badly let down by a flawed PIP assessment", asks what steps will be taken to ensure people are treated with fairness and dignity, and given the support they need.

Kendall says treating people with dignity and respect is at "the heart of the government's plans".

She adds that she regularly meets disabled people who are denied the chance of work.

"That is what we want to put right, to make sure that the social security system is there for those who need it - not just now, but for years to come," she adds.

She adds that she regularly meets disabled people who are denied the chance of work.

ITS NOT ABOUT WORK!? ITS ABOUT PIP. PIP IS NOT AN OUT OF WORK BENEFIT. Is she genuinely stupid???

but Kendall’s the the dwp minster isn’t she ? How can she not play a part in the green paper? So what someone from reeves or starmers office leak information to the itv and the guardian but don’t tell Kendall. Right now my brain fogs bad and this stress is making it worse but so maybe I getting this wrong. It’s like streeting also denied knowledge of the cuts .

Green Party MP Sian Berry says the government's "active trailing of welfare cuts has generated genuine fear".

She asks if Kendall will apologise for this and reassure the public that benefit changes will not take place this year.

Labour MP Stephen Timms, responds, saying he recognises that there has been a "good deal of anxiety".

"I regret that that has occurred," he says, adding that the proposals will soon become clear and that he thinks Berry will welcome them.

So he can’t even say sorry?

How can they live with themselves?

Edited: he also said he’s “concerned” and “sad” — well that’s okay then! 🙄
