why even assess after all that time as things are changing anyway ie legacy migration.

I haven't noticed anyone on here having a problem with some of us being on legacy benefits.
Maybe I missed something?

Just because some work for NHS doesn't mean they have any empathy.
Look at mp Helen Whatley she's from a medical family and wished to follow a medical career after taking work placements in hospitals then decided she wanted to improve healthcare .
She is one of the biggest (as if it's needed )biggest voices in pressurising liz kendal to cut health benefits for the most vulnerable and sick.

I watched a bit of them in parliament today . Kendall looked demented. She looked ready for a punch up and Timms a drip . He’d be too scared to stick up for against Kendall and reeves even if wanted to.

I have no idea but the letter arrived out of the blue and it caused me so much distress.
I am on contribution based.

I actually get less on legacy esa . I could of migrated over years ago , wish I had now

Same way as the Tories used to sit down at tables to eat dinners costing thousands while trying to stop free school meals for children going hungry because there parents couldn't afford essentials thanks to their policies

there are even bigger incentives to come off the system imo - the thought of not having to deal with the dwp or living in fear that you’ll lose your award and be at the mercy of work coaches and sanctions and the endless assessments & the way many in society treat you as a scrounger/liar
Prehaps those playing the system just don’t feel the consequences of dealing with the devil (sorry, dwp) but the average disabled person has countless incentives to not want to be on the system, just our health and disabilities don’t give us that option
And for a department that saying they want more disabled in work they’ve axed every halfway decent scheme offering help
The dwp have self sabotaged themselves for years (and if the backlash from last week continue and evolves further, self sabotage is exactly what this labour gov is doing to itself - honestly I’m still a bit in shock that the backlash has gotten this big…….i honestly didn’t think so many people outside thr disabled community would care what happens to us……….its very humbling to regain a little faith in the human race)

Claims are ongoing until reviewed. As to when a review might happen, your Medical Report UC85 or ESA 85 may give an indication. Prognosis - work unlikely in the short term, work unlikely in the medium term or work unlikely in the longer term.
The DWP decision maker may choose to follow the report or opt for a different time frame. The time frames are vague - what exactly constitutes short, medium or longer term ? Before the pandemic the aim, I believe, was to assess at least every three years. A snow balls chance in hell that could ever happen now given the exponential increase in claims - it's all soon to be a thing of the past anyway by all accounts.
Tomorrow will tell.

Hi hope I responded correctly by selecting 'quote.' I have lp, the latest seemed quite frustrated in relation to how those with the transitional maybe isolated from any UC cuts. From my understanding, if UC went to zero, you would only get the TP on top so any cuts would relate to them ie. the TP is on top of the rates. This was only a few days ago when the scope chat went into meltdown over talk of disability payment cuts, understandably.

omg I know. I’ve found some very uncaring nurses on the wards when I’ve had sick family members. Sorry I know ppl don’t like nurses to be criticised but in my experience ward nurses lack empathy.

I don’t think labour thought the backlash would be this big either and hopefully it’s made them soften their plans for us all 🤞

As an old timer, when my PIP was upped, I felt as 'flush' as I was when first awarded in 2009. That shows how payments have been eroded, and only had a month of experiencing that before UC transition. I hope the situation doesn't result in infighting in terms of 'i'm more poorly than you.' From my understanding, the mental health services are awful, I had a taste of them as you imagine from my circumstances and they were mostly crp 20 years ago, to push people off in genuine distress without a treatment is just outright inhumane.

Yes I've got some stories about Healthcare staff I can tell you and those that were meant to look after my nan, when they were not stealing from her that is
Those bad apples end up in all places including places you'd never expect

My hubby is in the ESA support group moved from incapacity benefit in 2013 had an assessment but hadn't had one since. We have just had the migration letter to transfer to UC 😭

Not many of them lack empathy.
I worked on wards in the nhs for many years before I had to take early ill health retirement.
