I am able bodied but at Christmas moved into my partners home with her children it is a big step as my partner had a stroke at 42 just 2 weeks after her little girl was born that was 7 years ago
She can only use the right side of her body and I care for her when I am not at work
Maybe this is not the site for me and my partner but I would sure like to get help and advice from the community
I look forward to hearing from anyone

Hello @patchyboy and a warm welcome to you, you are free to have a look around and ask any questions you might have, and I hope we can help support you :) Did you have a good Christmas all together?

One category you might like to visit is our Children, Parents, and Families category where you can find other members in similar situations, or just share more of your story with us.

Otherwise, here's a few of the best places to get started:
    • Recent discussions is where you'll find all the latest conversations our members are having
    • The categories page shows all the different topics for discussion
    • The virtual coffee lounge is a place to chat, get to know other members, and play games too
Is there anything you'd like a hand with today, as you mentioned wanting help and advice?

Unfortunatetly not because your earnings will be too high. To claim carers allowance your earnings must be no more than £132/week after deductions. https://www.gov.uk/carers-allowance/eligibility
If it shows any entitlement to UC then as i advised in that thread above, you can report being your partners carer and your UC will include the carers element. You don't need to claim carers allowance to be entitled to carers element.
