Hi @Amberpearl I am so sorry you are finding it difficult to pay your bills. It must play on your mind. Have you ever asked for help from Citizens Advise to see if anything can be done to help you?

    How is your kitten doing?

    Please take care of yourself.

Hi @Amberpearl , I'm so sorry for your worries. I contacted Stepchange a debt charity c 2-3 yrs ago they were massively helpful and there was no waiting list for help like there was with the CAB. They can help/advise with regard to debts and benefits.

I don't know if it makes a difference if you are a homeowner or renting. I was (had mortgage) but was moving to rent bungalow off the council.

I never entered into any kind of debt management plan but took their advice. My debtors accepted 1.00 a month and froze the interest (including a gas/electric provider from the cottage I had to move from) and they've rarely mithered me since. I'm not saying your gas provider can do that, especially if they're your current provider, but Stepchange were very helpful. Some of the energy providers had Trust Funds they could refer customers to as well for additional support.

Please reach out to those who can support and not keep the worry all to yourself. I wish I'd contacted them much sooner.
