The process is to write the report based on everything you sent including the form you filled in.

From what I know (from working closely with WCA), a certain number of cases are selected at random each month to be audited - if part of the assessment report is incorrect or something hasn’t been clarified or fully explored which could potentially lead to a different outcome, then it usually leads to another assessment taking place. This may differ for PIP. Hope everything goes well though.

    Thank you @Alex_Scope and @faraway_21.
I've already been through all that @faraway_21 first my assessment went to audit then the outcome was another phone assessment which still didn't work followed by a face2face which was stopped as the assessor could see how ill I was, got sent home as I needed a paperbased assessment.
Last few weeks have been a nightmare to cope with but I'm still hanging in there.

I'm sorry it's such a drawn out process for you @anth22 are you in touch with your own GP about your health, and are you getting ongoing support? :)

I had a missed call from capital last week my phone rang 2 times and they cut off so I waited for them to ring me back which they did the following day and again after 2 rings they cut off not giving me time to answer the call.
So I rang them back and asked what was going on they said it was probably the assessor wanting to ask me something 🤔 I explained about the 2 rings and being cut off, I asked is it not possible for the phone to ring a bit longer so I have enough time to answer it she said she would write a note down on their system.
What a carry on I'm sick off it.

I'm so sorry to hear this @anth22 that's so frustrating, things like this can be very wearing when they're out of your control, but hopefully soon things will be sorted.

If we can support you with anything right now, do ask, and let us know when you here more!

So the delay is they have written to the one consultant that phones me once a year compared to my other consultants who see me regularly and my own GP who see me the most.

@anth22 That must have been so frustrating! Did they give an explanation as to why they wrote to that one consultant?

No they didn't any reason for it 😒 even I can't think why they choose that one.

The stress is over for now I've been awarded gone from standard daily living to enhanced but still on standard rate for mobility.
Don't get me wrong I'm really grateful for this extra help but I do feel I've been taken advantage off, as I sent my review back over 2 years ago and nothing has changed since then but pip are only paying me the new rates from July 23 which seems so unfair as I should have been on enhanced rate months ago if it wasn't for the backlogs.

Glad to hear it’s finally completed. In normal times a review started by DWP doesn’t usually mean you’re owed any money.

However because of the backlogs with reviews sometimes they are starting the new award from an earlier date. There doesn’t seem to be any consistency with this because some are owed money and others aren’t.

You can put in a complaint if you want and tell them if a decision had been made earlier then you would have now been receiving the higher award. There’s no guarantee you will receive it though. It’s your decision what you do.

Thank you @poppy123456 do you think it might put my award at risk putting in a complaint?

It should not do @anth22 - they should have a complaints procedure that is independent of the assessors. If possible, I would encourage you to locate and have a read through the policy if you have concerns before making a complaint  :)
