They mostly go with the report, it’s rare for them to go against it. Going against it wouldn’t be the reason for the decision taking longer. Decisions can take anything up to 12 weeks after the report was returned.0 -

@beckyapril123 hi sorry to barge in haha 😆 I’m not sure if you have received a text or anything yet but I’m in the same boat kinda, I had my assessment on 18th may and the only thing I’ve had is a letter through the post on 1st June saying we now have all the evidence we need to make a decision on your pip claim. Mines a change of circumstances review though. I’ve not had any text stating anything else same as you. I have also been calling the pip Center to ask for updates everyday and apparently there’s a backlog at the moment and I still may have to wait 2-4 weeks for a decision but that’s just a guideline. I did speak to a case manager though beginning of this week and they told me they was going to try and hurry my claim but I also got told even though it’s been out down to look at there’s still other people before me. I hope this don’t make you more anxious but I hope it helps with the rough timeline estimate0

@rachel3471 I guess it’s different for everyone but I don’t understand where some people get different to others especially when there’s backlogs it don’t make sense to me0

Not everyone receives all the texts. Sometimes they will also send letters as well as texts and sometime just letters.

@poppy123456 so why do they tell me on the phone that I’ll receive a text and then a letter0

They may send a text if there's an award but not always. Texts are not sent if there's a refusal.

The report is a recommendation only. Whilst they mostly go with it, it has been known for them to go against it. Once the decision is made if you're not happy you can request the MR.
