i have multiple conditions and find it really hard to make friends so i am hoping to connect with people on here in a similar situation. i'm a big my chemical romance and paramore fan, i've recently been watching american horror story, and i am a big fan of the OC, buffy the vampire slayer and the walking dead. i wish i could afford to buy all of the action figures for the last 2 shows, they look so cool. i used to be quite alternative but i don't have the energy or motivation to care about my appearance much at all these past few years. i'm very socially awkward and although i have tried some in person and online groups i find myself assured i am indeed very strange and unlikeable and this is difficult for me as no one seems to have any interest in me as a person even when i try really hard to be kind, friendly and considerate. i have stopped attending the groups now after going for a few months as i never made any friends and found it more stressful driving there, it was quite far, and not having friends. i spend all my time alone or with family, i very much wish i had a good friend to watch shows and do fun things with. my family do not really support or understand me so i feel very alone and depressed everyday, and have for many years. i hope to find some happiness here. i like shopping and clothes, perfume, make up (not that i ever wear any now but i watch so many tutorials and love the show glow up too). there are lots of things i want to try but everything feels rather pointless lately and too much effort and too difficult to arrange. these include archery, self defense or boxing (not sure i physically can do this though), swimming (which i plan to start next week and have put off again for a longggg time, it's highly likely i'll go once and not want to go back), photography, cooking, animal fostering and learning the guitar, drums, violin and piano. i recently learned how to blow a trumpet for the first time, that was fun i laughed at myself a lot trying it out. enough waffling from me for now, i am going to get a subway despite being skint. ciao

Hi @doomdoll welcome to the forum I hope you try swimming as it's a good form of exercise and I'm going to try it soon too.

    Hello @doomdoll

Welcome to the community! :) How are you feeling today?

I love Paramore, I'll be seeing them next year supporting Taylor Swift!

Which American Horror Story season is your favourite so far? If you like movies, one of our members Grinchy has an amazing DVD collection

It's nice to hear you have family around you. There are many people who feel the same in the community. I hope we can be a place of support and friendship for you :)

Archery sound like a great one to try! You'll have to let us know when you start it up :) Enjoy your Subway!

Hey. Yeah it is. I'm so self conscious in swimwear though. I've ordered new gear to try and manage. I got bored swimming last time too and pools gross me out a bit but I'm putting it all to one side in the hope.itll do my body and mind good and all the cons will be worth it. I'm planning on actually counting how many lengths I manage and timing myself etc this time, with a general goal of seeing how many/long I can manage... i will have to think about what groups i could try but I'm rubbish at conversation though my anxietys so bad sometimes I can't even talk. Archery would be a bit of a drive from me now. Have you swam before?

Swimming is considered to be one of the best forms of exercise :) I'd love to get back into it, but it is unfortunately very expensive to do where I am as they offer it as part of memberships.

I hope you do well! It would be great to try and talk to others that are there are be a support for each other with counting lengths and trying to beat previous time records. I wonder if the pool you go to has any group activities? Like aqua aerobics? May be one to keep in mind to try as you get back into it :)

Thats a shame. I wouldn't be surprised if my only local pool shuts soon as many are and it closes quite early now. Another reason to try and go really, to support it staying open. Thank you. That's a good idea, it'd be nice to get on with just one person there tbh. Makes it more interesting. I'm curious how ill manage remembering or even counting lengths and times as I've a memory of a sieve and can't use my phone or pen and paper to write it down like I do with everything else. Any suggestions welcome haha

@doomdoll You can get one of those flip number cards?

    Hundreds Flip Chart Place Value
[Image above is of a flip board of number]

Something like pictured above? I've seen them laminated before so you wouldn't need to worry about it getting wet!
