In the decision letter it should tell you what evidence was used to make the decision.

Ok great ty x0

@roglin55 hope you get you letter soon so you can start the process but also as I’ve seen so many times on here that it’s how your disability affects you so wondering why they contact doctors my self personal I have anxiety disorder and depression amongst other things so it’s hard for me to attend appointments sometimes I miss them so my dr might not be fully aware of the depth of my issues in my daily living also it’s hard enough to even get a appointment when needed wouldn’t the people who support us know more for example or if you don’t have support then what then I only sent one letter from the dr as that’s all they would give me and it’s not in depth of what my life is like it’s mainly diagnosis stated what I have not how it’s affecting my life as the dr wouldn’t do me a letter0
-
Thanks zoet I like you rarely visit doctor I tend to live with my ailments even though it gets un bearable most days once the letter arrives ill have more idea I will address what ever they are disputing hopefully reconsideration goes my way if not its appeal0

@roglin55
I still haven't heard anything .
My head is in a bad place at the min just waiting every day for decision. This long wait and I know its the same for everyone but it adds to people's mental health. How are you feeling now you have started ball rolling.
@zoet1 is this your first claim .how long you been waiting now ?0 -
@Hannahmarie1234 thank you I am waiting still since may but mine is not paper based I think seems they are quicker yes it’s my first claim I first applied in may the revived my form July and still waiting to hear about a assessment0
-
Hi hannah not started ball rolling yet need to wait for letter then I will write a reply also will phone to say I want a reconsideration0
-
@zoet1.it seems forever the wait .it really plays with your head . I had my assessment just over 4 weeks so still have a few weeks to go . Some people get decision within a few days of telephone assessment. Mine was paper based but I have waited longer . So it's not always quicker think it's what area and backlog there is . Hope you hear soon and your one of. The lucky ones that hear quick x0

@roglin55 that’s why I’m not understanding that when they do contact the dr my doctor doesn’t live with me to know how I’m affected day to day unless I tell them but at the same time I can’t just call the drs and say I’m affected this way and that way they have so many patients to deal with also and it’s hard to see a dr the reception also asking why I want to see the dr which is off putting depending on what you say to them then they decide if there’s appointments also I was misdiagnosed in December with breathing difficulties they kept telling me it was hay fever I kept telling them it was asthma as it’s runs in both sides of my family including copd emphysema took until June for them to diagnose me with asthma I’ve been hospitalised 3 times with panic attacks but because I never had a diagnosis for asthma they told me it wasn’t asthma I could of been having a asthma attack but was never checked for it even tho there a long history on both side immediate family including my parents uncles aunts grandparents ect0

@roglin55
I don't blame you .
You said you are going away take that time to try chill and come back with clear head to tackle it .
I'm not feeling optimistic now because they said they have everything they need to make a decision 2 weeks ago so not looking good 😕. Enjoy your time away x0 -
Thankyou hannah just trying to chill. Will deal when home x0
-
@Hannahmarie1234 yeah it’s been 14 weeks since I started the claim and still no sign of a assessment even tho I read online that it’s 13 weeks end to end but since discovering this forum I’ve come realise that it’s different for everyone and to take no notice of the time frames online thankfully I did find this forum because it’s been so helpful reading other people situations and learning about the process but I’m still stressed and anxious but at least I understand better hopefully you will hear something quickly 🤞0

roglin55 said:Hi hannah not started ball rolling yet need to wait for letter then I will write a reply also will phone to say I want a reconsiderationI'd advise you not to ring to request it because the minute you do that, the ball will start rolling and a decision can be made at anytime. They do not have to wait for any extra evidence to be sent.You should put the request in writing stating where and why you think you should have scored those points. When you filled out the form if you didn't give a couple of real world examples of exactly what happened the last time you attempted each descriptor that applies then i'd advise you to do this. Adding detailed information such as where you were, what exactly happened, did anyone see it and what the consequences were.When returning it you should get proof of posting, which is free from any post office.0

Thankyou I was going to write send nect day delivery then ring after fee days0

roglin55 said:Thankyou I was going to write send nect day delivery then ring after fee daysIt's pointless sending next day delivery because it doesn't mean it arrives with DWP the following day. It will be signed for in bulk by someone from Royal Mail sorting office and it's not classed as arriving with DWP until it's been added to the computer, which can often take a couple of weeks. All mail going to and from DWP has to go through a mail sorting process.Proof of posting, is free and all you need to prove you actually sent the letter.0
