Awww they are so adorable Poppy, when my daughter was moving last year my granddaughter was 4 at the time, and that’s what she was worried about all their stuff. She kept saying what about my toys and all my clothes 😭😭2

poppy123456 said:@JessieJ thank you, it certainly does! @woodbine well it's taken them just over 1 month to offer me the house after the bidding ended lol. When i spoke to them today i asked how long it would take because Christmas is almost here and the thought moving before then just isn't possible.I was told that once i accept the property normally it's pretty quick after that. However because of my health conditions they maybe some changes that need to be made before i can move in. I'm hoping by the middle of January at the latest.Once i've viewed it, if i accept then i will start packing... upstairs first. I've got boxes, bubble wrap and mattress protectors for moving all added to my basket on Amazon already. Is there a way to "wave" a magic wand so that everything just moves from one place to another?2

@Lou67 they really are. Aww bless your granddaughter, they are so cute aren’t they!2

@Luchia thanks, I had thought of that but the thought of some stranger packing up my things is definitely not something I could ever do.Thankfully, I have my daughter who is amazing and I don’t know what I would do without her. Actually, she says the same about me. We make the perfect team, she does what I can’t do and I do what she can’t. She will pack and unpack.I have other family and friends that will help with everything that’s heavy on moving day.3

Yes Poppy the grandkids are a blessing.
That last post was lovely to read about you and your daughter and how yous help each other ❤️2 -
What fantastic news! And a perfect time of year too, what with new year on the horizon. I bet it's one of those wonders that when you wake up you will remember something amazing happened and then a blank and then.... OMG!!!1

I wasn't going to say anything but we did visit the outside of the house today because i know the postcode and there's only 15 houses in the row, so not difficult to see which one it was, as it's currently empty.I don't know the area but my eldest daughter does and before i placed the bid (as i did with all bids i made) i asked her what it was like and she said it's lovely and i should definitely bid. She wasn't wrong and it really does look lovely and so quiet too.I looked through the living room window and was pleasantly surprised at the size of the living room. Went around the back with the car and into the garden, lovely size, perfect for a lovely flower garden and some lawn for my grandchildren to play on. Much bigger than what i have now. Looked through the window at the kitchen and at first i was a little shocked to find the kitchen smaller than what i expected but to my surprise there's a dining room! I expect the bedrooms to be the same size as kitchen and living room so happy days! Now, we are very very excited! Can't wait to actually view it next week and agree to the tenancy. I have a shortfall of rent where i live now so this move will definitely help as there's no shortfall of rent.7

Oh I don’t blame you going for a look, I did when I got this flat, and I’m sure most people do.I’m so pleased for you and your daughter, it sounds great. And what a start to 2024 for yous.
Goodnight ❤️2 -
Understanding that the move will assist with the current rent shortfall is reassuring for you, Poppy. Here's an idea, recognising that it doesn't suit everyone. Some of my friends, especially those with dining rooms and an adult child at home, have transformed the dining room into a second small lounge to provide everyone with their own extra personal space. They then make the main lounge into a lounge/diner. It might be something worth considering as you navigate through the move. I couldn't resist floating that idea with you, and I won't take offense if you tell me to mind my own business. I'm sure you have many considerations, and with Christmas in the mix, you have a lot to get through.

Thank you, that's a good suggestion. Though she does like to spend time in her bedroom because that's her "safe" space. We have the best relationship too and she does usually come downstairs in the evening to spend time with me, which is nice. It would seem a little strange her coming down and going into the dining room away from me. For this reason it's unlikely we would use it for that. We have a kitchen table that we usually eat at so it will be nice to put the table in there but i may put a comfy chair in there so either of us can sit there if we want to.

Thank you to everyone who commented, it's means a lot!! We have been to see the house this morning and we absolutely love it!! It's much bigger than what i thought from viewing through the windows, which is a big bonus.I have accepted the property with the biggest smile i've had on my face for a very very long time! It's just had a brand new kitchen and flooring fitted, which is lovely. I need a stairlift but there's a waiting list of about 6 months for that. I can manage without that for the time being but long term it will need to be done. The OT said she will arrange for someone to come out to get the measurements once i have the key.The shower room is small, with a separate toilet, which is different but not an issue at all. Both rooms are fully tiled with white tiles so it looks lovely. She said that signing the tenancy agreement is usually by telephone and is likely to be by the end of next week. Once it's done they will put the key in a key safe outside the house.Of course there's no flooring or cooker, which i do need to sort out.She advised me to hand in my notice with my current landlord ASAP because the new house is now mine! (just not offically yet) Woop woop!! Big smiles, celebrations and excitement to start a new chapter with my daughter!12

A fully tiled bathroom is very nice, easy to maintain too.
Are you getting any help with the flooring and cooker? Those can be pretty large expenses!
So happy for you1 -
