Does anyone else feel guilt for being on benefits?

I have feel guilty having my son put a small amount of the money he gets to cover the cost of his food and helping towards the gas and electricity. I am still paying for about 70% of his expenses, fearing they will be asking for receipts as proof of where every penny was spent. Even though theses are things some of his money can go towards.
He needs some medical help to relieve pain, that the nhs won't cover, so a chunk of it is definitely going to pay for that soon. But because of fear I had to spend months trying to find out if it could even be used for that!
The amount of fear and stress they cause people should be a crime. We definitely need learn to be kind to ourselves and take better care of our physical and mental health.
No need to feel guilty for getting the help and support you are entitled to that's why the system was set up for.
