Good luck with snow @Hannah_Scope I think it might be long wait lol
@Biblioklept how lovely what you thinking of1 -
I think it will be @Sandy_123 Unless we have another weird easter / spring and it snows
@Biblioklept A lot of animal rescue centers look for fosterers. You could foster different animals and see what suits your lifestyle?3 -
@Biblioklept If you have a garden, some smaller and older dogs don't necessarily need the walk side, just want lots of cuddles and a companion. But it is hard. We always rehomed older cats, so they had a nice home in their last days. It was hard only having that short time with them.
Yeah, you're on your own with the snake I won't be popping round for a cuppa lol. Animal shelters don't mind when people drop in for advice. My friend is a vet and is always happy when people come in to ask questions.1 -
Raptiles are definitely great pets to keep @Biblioklept, I've kept snakes before and currently have a crested gecko, but he tends to only be active at night, so not great if you want something to interact with, or even watch.
What sort of snake would you want? Food is very easy to order online for them now.0 -
@Biblioklept
Oh that’s lovely I hope you find something to suit you. Whatever you decide to go with will be amazing company for you.
I also would love a dog but haven’t been fit enough to look after it.
I’m hopeful in the future that may be possible.
Im also scared of cats.Please come back and let us know what you decide to go for.I hope your shoulder is getting better.❤️1 -
I've spent my lunch break laying down next to a poorly Doofy dog, poor guy is currently on a lot of sedatives.
But on the plus side, he's not bothered about a lack of walkies in the rain today.1 -
Good afternoon Scopicles
Well I'm very grateful to the advice centre helping us fill in the forms. There definitely is a way to word things. The prescription meds alone took ages as there's so many.
At least its done and dusted and its another task of the list. I can forget about it now as its out of my hands.
@Lou67 hope tomorrow goes well at the hospital
Have an uneventful afternoon everyone

Glad it's all sorted @Marydoll5
I'm having a rest been cooking a curry
It's the vet fees that stop me wanting animals1 -
Glad it's out of the way now @Marydoll5.
@Sandy_123 ooh, I do love me a curry. Hint hint.
@Ada he had a bit of a funny turn last night, so was whisked off to the vets today. Sounds like it's the doggy version of vertigo, so the poor old chap is passed out on the sofa.1 -
Your welcome anytime @Albus_Scope hope the dog gets better soon2
-
@Albus_Scope poor doggy is he your pet?
@Sandy_123 I know what you mean about fees. I suppose there is no NHS for animals and its like human equivalent of private fees1 -
Poor guy was all over the place and very disoriented last night, we were very worried about the old chap. He's 14 now @Ada @Marydoll5 so he's getting all the usual old age aches and pains.
Thanks @Sandy_1231 -
@Albus_Scope
Aww I hope your dog feels better soon, it’s awful when they aren’t their usual selves.
@Marydoll5
Thank you, I’m so glad that’s the forms filled in and out off the way for you.❤️2 -
@Marydoll5 well done getting that done, I always find it a relief when I have finished doing the forms even though that's only the start of the battle!2
-
@66Mustang you are right it's the start of a battle which causes unnecessary stress!
@Sandy_123 enjoy your curry!
@Albus_Scope your dog is in good hands with you
I've just made dinner of nice thick streaky bacon, skinny fries tomatoes and bread buttered for Mr Marydoll and it was torture. I have a tummy bug and can't stray too far from the loo and can't eat. The smell of the bacon was soo good.
It does my heart good though to see an empty plate as before sobriety he never ate and its good to see the good proper food has done.1 -
Thanks for the mention @Ada, I think you can read me like a book I am going for dinner then going to play Scrabble with a whisky see you tomorrow and I hope you have a good night.
@Marydoll5we have a family friend who strictly has not eaten meat for several years now, he says he is never tempted either except for one thing that does make him consider giving up, which is the smell of bacon!!!!2 -
@Ada
Aww thanks Ada i hope you manage a better sleep tonight.
@Biblioklept
Glad you have a bit more movement in your shoulder now, but I hope it fully recovers soon.
I’ve felt much better today the pains eased a lot, I have an appointment at the hospital tomorrow and I’m hoping I won’t have to go back.
