How is your day going?

@Ada
@Lou67
I used to be similar but not as severe
Used to have really bad OCD and never felt clean even after spending over 60 mins in the shower
So my routine was to have a shower about 9pm in the evening (so I didn't have to drink in the morning)
Then drink between 1/2 and 1 bottle of whisky a night so my OCD went away and I could sleep
Get to sleep around 1am
Then not wake until 10am
That said I realised I have a problem, which I think is half the battle
I am a lot better now, I still drink around 3 units a day on average, so 21 a week. Some days 4 units some days 0. Just for enjoyment not for addiction. You are meant to stay at or under 14 a week so I am a bit over but when I was drinking over 120 units a week it's very much improved!!3 -

Hey everyone, how are you all?
I'm sorry I haven't been around much the past while. A mixture of very busy and not feeling great. Hope to catch up with everything!
You have me for the weekend1 -
@66Mustang
Oh that’s great the way you have turned things around, and now you have a much better routine plus you’re cutting down with a lot things and only having them in moderation.
A massive well done to you because you saw it wasn’t benefiting you and you changed it.❤️2 -
@Jimm_Scope Hi, I was actually thinking of you yesterday, I've seen you were online but thought I hadn't come across many posts from you, I hope you're feeling better now?
@Lou67 thanks I really appreciate that, I agree about having a little of what you like in moderation. Same with weight loss I am over 4 stone lost now but I had a little bit of chocolate yesterday so not totally going without.
I hope the rest of your wound heals quickly, I think you deserve a big treat when it's all finished. Maybe a walking holiday?3 -
@66Mustang
Oh 4 stone loss now that’s amazing 👏👏👏 you’re doing so good.
Thanks I’m looking forward to my holiday with my mum in April and I will be happy to just be able to go some walks with her.
Maybe later on when I feel fitter a walking holiday or even start with a walking group near me where I can go at my own pace but still have company.

Thank you @Ada and @66Mustang, I'm good now. It's good to be interacting again
How's the leg @Lou67? I haven't been able to keep up with how everyone's been doing3 -
@Ada
Oh you look after them so good, I just get upset that they don’t offer you anything for doing it. I know your not looking for anything but it would be nice if they did.
@66Mustang
Yes I’ve been thinking about a walking group for a while I’ve just been a bit apprehensive as I might hold them back, But I will definitely enquire about it when I feel better.
@Jimm_Scope
Hi Jim lovely to have you back I hope your keeping well.
Im doing not to bad now just a bit off an ache at the back off my leg up the top.The hospital attached a pump thing to my knee to trying help heal a bit off the wound which is still open. It’s called a Pico 7 so fingers crossed 🤞🏾

@66Mustang
Oh thats good I suppose I can research one that does aim at people that struggle walking fast.
I don’t think I would have the confidence to start one myself not yet anyway 😊2 -
It's been raining on and off here,not what was forecast but it's not like I can sue the weather peeps.
More's the pity.1 -
My son is obsessed with cleanliness @66Mustang,he'll sometimes scrub his hands until they bleed.0

My partner is very particular about cleanliness too, they do have OCD. They manage it quite well now but there have been times, usually times of higher stress, where their hands get so irritated and can bleed from the amount of handwashing.

It's dry here at the moment @Sandy_123 but it looks like it's going to tip down any second.1

Hello everyone
@Ada I didn't realise your partner drank and there's me complaining about the damage my partner did to himself. I'm so so sorry.
@66Mustang well done for making such massive changes. You are an inspiration.
Have a good afternoon everyone and stay warm and safe 😊

@Ada you are not wicked. Its a hard situation. My exhusband was abusive in every way and these days they call the mental side coercive control. I'm glad they teach youngsters about it.
Mr Mary doll gave me back my self esteem and confidence and it was a shock to realise the alcoholism. I nearly walked away.
@Lou67 I am sorry too you had problems. I have come to realise that they have to admit there is a problem or nothing will change.
The nurse taking bloods yesterday asked him how he got help as her brother in law was an alcoholic. He told her his story and that when the confusion lifted (wet brain) he saw men at end stage liver failure and was shocked and never wanted to get to that stage.
He won't get another chance and only a small part of his liver works. It was a big thing to tell someone else his story.
Life is hard.1
