It's quite plain @Lou67 ,the room is too small for anything with a pattern on it.

Just 2 days of sun after all that rain and the plants in the garden are very thirsty. Going to have to water them today!

I find that interesting @66Mustang, about your support worker. I feel like it can be the same with disability in general. If someone has not experienced disability they struggle to fully understand what it's like. And I think the same goes for mental health too. I will say, my current therapist doesn't have ADHD but she's studied it so much she understands it better than I do! Sometimes I'll say an issue I'm having that I think it unrelated to my ADHD, but when she helps me dig deeper into the problem, it's either directly or indirectly related to it.

Do you have a local repair group @Ada? My local library has one, once a month they meet at the library and anyone can come to them with broken electronics and they will see if they can repair it.

Took my son to see a pharmacist and just as I suspected they can't do anything. He's been told to leave it uncovered unless he's at work or college.

Afternoon @ada we've been busy in gardens just doing the jobs in the house now before the match. That's a shame about your fan

I'm okay today thank you @Ada How are you today? Shame about the fan, do you have an ice cube tray you can put in the freezer or freezer packs at all? So you can use them to cool down when it gets too hot?

Hi all. How are you today?

I feel in the middle recently. My older sister has fell out with my mum and is not speaking to her or coming over to the house. For my birthday last week she messaged me saying she hasn't got me a present because she wants to take me to lunch or go shopping or something. I don't want to upset my mum even though she said I won't and I don't want to upset my sister if I don't go out with her.

    I haven't answered her yet.

I don't know what to do.

    Any advice?

    @Jimm_Scope

Something I would say is to add that I think it's possible to still "be understanding" even when it comes to something you don't "understand", if that makes sense

Having knowledge or information definitely is one way to becoming "understanding" but it's not the only way to being understanding - you can still be understanding of someone's difficulties/situation, even if you are ignorant of the details or have no experience

(In philosophy you could call knowledge of a situation a "sufficient condition" of being understanding, which means it's one way of achieving it, as opposed to a "necessary condition" which means it's the only path to achieving it)

To make it more complicated I actually think it works the other way round too … you can have lots of knowledge but not be understanding in a sympathetic/empathetic way - I've met lots of doctors who seem to get upset when my conditions don't manifest in the way they've been taught, almost like I'm "doing the disability thing wrong" 😆

@66Mustang Oh yes, I didn't mean to say it's not possible to "be understanding". You are very right there. My therapist is an example of exactly what you're saying yeah.

And yeah, I've had that too. You need both knowledge and empathy I think in many cases.

I'm blaming it on Mr Teigr being home @Lou67 ,I'm really struggling to get into any sort of routine with him under my feet.

Hi everyone I'm very late on today just very busy.

@Ada thanks for thinking of me. It was a bone density scan as he is calcium deficient and they want to check for osteoporosis. Won't get results for 2 weeks. He was really sore after it trying to hold his legs in different positions.

Hope you all had a lovely day in the sun. Catch you all tomorrow 😊

@Ada oh that sounds nasty for you but it shows how much she means to you that you persevere, I imagine if Betty "pulls" on her lead (Jenson does that) it's hard because it puts strain on your back as well

I hope everyone is OK at the moment and has a nice night, I am going off now, see you all tomorrow 😛
