Just to chime in, there's only 4 articles from the Magna Carta that are still law. Clauses 1, 13, 39 and 40. They mostly talk about the liberties of the English church, the privileges for the city of London and peoples right to a trial by jury.

Changing to vouchers doesn't have to stop Motability. It could still be funded through the gov't in a similar way. But it could also be opened up to those of us who don't meet the strict PIP criteria for high rate Mobility now.

Well pointed out Albus, the one you quoted is the one I was on about (the right to a trial by jury)

Your welcome Catherine, this is why I constantly research online for, to keep up with most laws which do affect my future and that of other people, keeping a conscientious mind of how others would feel or react in these circumstances.

I appreciate this makes such a difference when I'm out of my mind and someone talks laws facts logic wakes you up from gripping anxiety and not feeling so alone and helpless

As opposed to "Trial by Ordeal" - I know which I would prefer……

But there is no definition of "financial assistance"
nor of this - "situations of poverty"
0 -
What does that mean sorry don't understand

Soul, I don't understand this and would like to.
Political Man are determined to be prosecuted for Treason and Sedition and Deliberate Sabotage of the Known Laws (Which directly affects the Royal Family itself).

Wibbles 4 August
In particular article 28 c.
"To ensure access by persons with disabilities and their families living in
situations of poverty
to assistance from the State with disability-related expenses, including adequate training, counselling, financial assistance and respite care."
But there is no definition of "financial assistance"
And as for "respite care" ????

So they don't have to offer financial help then is that what it means ?

We get financial help.

I hope they don't change the disability benefits to vouchers as my youngest sister uses my niece's DLA for help with buying things that my niece needs like paying for a new tablet. I think she also uses the money to buy a new wheelchair for my niece when she needs one. The children's wheelchair that my niece currently has is a bit of a tight squeeze for her to fit in as she's quite tall. My youngest sister who is my mum says that it's a pain to get hold of the place where she gets my niece's wheelchair from and getting to where it is. I can't remember if my sister said that the place is walking distance from where she lives or if she has to use public transport as she can't drive.
Plus my sister said that she has to use some reins that she has for my niece when she wants to walk to fasten in her wheelchair so that she can't get out as she can climb out of her wheelchair and she can also open the lap belt that is supposed to keep her in her wheelchair and she knows how to operate the brakes on her wheelchair and she knows how to push herself in her wheelchair, so my sister has to keep at least one hand on the handle to stop her from moving her wheelchair.
She also uses my niece's money to buy her school uniform and a backpack to put some fresh clothes and other things my niece needs for when she's either at school or spending time with her other nana and grandad or with her other mummy and youngest sister and brother.

We've had a new government for less than two months and they aren't even back in parliament yet @stay_positive I think it's best to just wait and see what happens. We don't want to scare anyone on the community please.

I don't think anyone is saying they can't have their own opinion but there's far too much speculation going on here. It does scare some people.
I totally understand that many people are worried and concerned but we don't know what may or may not happen yet because they haven't announced it. We just need to wait for the budget.

You are allowed to speak your mind of course, but please be aware we have many users who are very vulnerable and have bad anxiety and we want this to be a safe space for everyone. So please be aware of our house rules.

I think many people are just very worried and anxious at the moment as we are not being told anything about changes that may happen. I do believe the new government will make some changes to welfare, but it probably won't include PIP, and if it did it would be something like a cap on future payments, as in no benefit increases for maybe 12 months.
Just because they have hinted at some welfare changes does not mean they plan doing the same as the tories were going to do, welfare includes child benefits, Universal Credit, Pensions, housing benefit and others. I think they will focus more on getting people back to work who are able to or wish to do so, including those on disability benefits, but it won't be forced on you, they'll probably offer more help and try reduce mental health waiting lists and NHS waiting lists to reduce the amount of people claiming PIP.
There is too much scare mongering, false information, and second guessing about PIP changes, it's highly unlikely they would scrap it or give vouchers, it would be a nightmare, both for us and for the government, would cause more upset and distress, make people more poorly, be totally unworkable, cost more money in the long run, and be highly unpopular.

I am sorry to say, but I have to disagree with some of the posts on here, especially reading this

Sadly, that is someone giving a false point of view and false hope.
The new Government have already said about a 22 billion black hole, they have said about a 47 compensation claim, so near to 70 billion.
The new Government within a month of being in power, have already attacked the old age pensioners and removed their Winter fuel payment, unless on pension credit.
Catherine, sadly we have to expect the worse, but hope for the best. If the worse happens, then at least you are prepared for it, rather than someone trying to give false hope saying oh it is highly unlikely that it would happen, and then it does.
Sadly, if it does happen, then it is going to be very quick and sudden rather than years as some people are again trying to give more false hope.
I question the so called 16,000 replies to the so called green paper, which was filled with loaded questions. If it was a tick and check box exercise do you want payments to stop tick yes or no, it would be far easier to read using AI.
A text based exercise nah that was very dodgy.
The worse case scenario and one that we have to be prepared for is thus
- They come back from the Summer break in September, they start discussing it straight away, and start voting on it, claiming that all the 16,000 replies said yes please vouchers are a good idea
- It will be October 2024 when the budget happens and we cannot afford to keep PIP we need to fill that black hole. Kier Stammer has already given enough warning that things will get bad for us, saying that hard decisions have to be made.
- All of this will happen as quickly as possible, usually the Governments regardless of whom they are, like to do things at Christmas so that nothing can be done, which is why they have started managed migration onto UC in September so you are running into December.
I am really sorry for painting a bleak picture, but I honestly hate seeing people thinking that it will not happen, or giving false hope or information, when really they have no idea themselves.
Sadly, having a bleak out look is better than having a rose tinted one. At least that way you are looking at the negative side, rather than having hope that they will scrap this.
Labour was against this idea when they were in shadow Government wanting to be elected, they are all the same people regardless of who they say that they work for. Sadly, Governments lie to get elected and they break their promises once elected, this has happened for decades and beyond.
You are not the only person who is anxious and scared, we are all on the same ship, and that ship is called the Titanic.
However, do your best to think happy thoughts, as best as you can, but please do not believe anyone especially those people giving false hope such as saying they will not go through with it.
Sorry for being harsh and bleak, but it is better than false hope.
