Petition to DWP

I'm probably wasting my time but I've started a petition here. To make any changes voluntary and why.

Sorry but I don’t understand why a petition to make the changes voluntary. Why would anyone that claims benefits choose this? 🤔

@Nightcity You are wasting your time, there is only one website that goes to the house of commons once it reaches 100,000 I cannot think of the name of it off the top of my head.

However, it is not that one, I have never heard of that before, and the Government would not listen to it.

    However, make welfare reforms voluntary?

I am sorry but you are barking up the wrong tree here lol So I can voluntary give up PIP payments for PIP vouchers? On what planet is someone going to give up money to pay the bills over begging and pleading to the DWP every time they want a voucher?

I need stronger medication as my head is spinning now lol

Night city, I read your recent post under the subject Hopeless, and my heart truly goes out to you with all the challenges you are facing. Your intention to start a petition comes from a well intentioned place, and I admire your proactive approach. I really appreciate your passion and commitment to making a difference.

At the moment, nobody knows if there will be any significant changes; it is all still speculation. Once we have more concrete information, we can better determine the best course of action for petitions or other steps. Try to take things one day at a time and remember that we’re all in this together. Sending you a virtual hug. x

The changes being voluntary referred to being forced to engage for UC which will make some much iller.

    Never mind whatever.

Thanks MW123, you're very kind. That means a lot.

    Hi @Nightcity

I hope you are okay. I just wanted to let you know I have just read the post that @MW123 wrote to you and wanted to say what lovely, thoughtful advice it was and hope it gave you some comfort ❤️

    Hey Jodie.

Thanks for caring, yes it was a lovely message indeed.

I'm not doing too great last few weeks, but I'm sure I'll be ok,

Deciding carefully whether to bother claiming UC once asked. Based on people I know personally who don't have my issues with socialising, and the trouble they've had, I really don't think that system is designed tor autistics especially those at the more severe end of the spectrum.

    Have a lovely weekend.

Have you thought of finding an advocate to do the hard work of claiming for you? I used my MP many years ago, she was wonderful. Or, your local CAB should have a vulnerable clients advisor who could guide you. You deserve your benefits - it's not a luxury to claim. Write/email until you get help from someone who can help

My mums my appointee but I'm not putting this on her as she's just had this delightful experience herself moving from Income support, and she's been annoyed by them everyday almost over trivial things and is getting rather annoyed waiting got the first payment on 22nd.

I appreciate everyone's kindness and support.

We need a ban on any changes to anything related to disabled people if it reduces spending on them.

Hi @Nightcity (love that name, as I love photos and films of cities at night, when there’s way less people around).

Just read this thread, and hope you’re feeling ok today. It might be hard to go through with the claim, but it will be way worse if you end up without any money. I had a long period, it’s years past now, when I felt like I couldn’t deal with the benefits system (and didn’t know how to ask for help, or had anybody to help me). Anyway, I ended up in a far worse state when I had no money coming in, debts built up, I had to pay them back and live on almost nothing for a long period. I urge you to try to get some help to make the claim, so your situation doesn’t get worse.

There’s help there, it might not be all the help you need, you might feel worse for a bit, but please try not to end up not claiming.

I’m sure your mum would rather help you, than you end up not claiming. She might be stressed at the moment, but it doesn’t mean she doesn’t want to help you.

Hope the rest of your day is chilled.”

Thanks @vikki66 I love the night and films, I have a massive film collection it keeps me sane.

Thanks tor your support, Ill make the claim but I'll leave it as long as possible, but if I start being harassed I'll have no choice but to jump off.

I won't allow them to destroy my mental health. About 20 years ago I had a full nervous breakdown because of the dwp and an emergency doctor was called out on a Saturday because they drove me to do something bad to myself. They won't get a chance to do that again.

    Hiya @Nightcity

I’m glad you’ve got the films.

I’ve been there too with the breakdowns, hospital, etc. I think you need to let people help you to do this, as it will be definitely way worse for you if you have no money.

There’s no shame in asking people when you need help. I didn’t used to ask, I actually thought I couldn’t ask but found that wasn’t really true.

Try not to stress about it till it comes. Easier said than done, I know.

Hope it’s a quiet night, with a good sleep for you.

    I'm a big gamer, so I'd assumed your username was a Cyberpunk 2077 reference @Nightcity 😆
