Do I need to have ID? UC Managed Migration

It often takes a few weeks for ESA to send your details across. Once this is done your claim will be updated and you’ll be asked to agree to claimant commitments.
I’ll be honest and they don’t always respond to messages on your journal and if they do it may take a while. If it was me I’d be inclined to keep the messages straight to the point and not too long.
Yes, usually a first appointment is needed even when in the Support Group. It may take a week or so for this appointment.
Just a reminder, you will almost definitely be asked to provide a fit note but it’s not needed so please ignore that.

Hi Poppy,
Thanks for the info.
I'll see about rewording 2 and 3.
Also, can they do it over the phone or does it need to be done in person?
I've changed them to the following: -
- I am in the support group of ESA and should be awarded automatic LCWRA on my UC.
- Due to my mental health conditions, I’d like to request that the rent money is paid directly to the council.
- I have mobility issues and agoraphobia, I very rarely leave my home and I wouldn't be able to attend an appointment. I'd like to request a phone appointment or home visit, please.
If I have to see someone in person I'll remove the phone appointment bit and will just ask for a home visit.

I should have said I've reworded 2 and 3 lol.

I submitted my UC claim, how long does it usually take for them to get back to you with an appointment?
With my son they emailed him the same day for a phone appointment a week later, but he was in IS and gets carers.

The ID appointments are automatically generated I think. Mine came within 24 hours as well.

Thank you @OverlyAnxious I'll try and chill a bit :)
I think I ought to have a name like yours lol. I reckon I have generalised anxiety disorder as well as all of my other issues because I'm ALWAYS anxious and worry about anything and everything, I wasn't too anxious about it when I got the letter, now my brain is overthinking things.
It's helpful when people like yourself respond.

I've not heard anything as of yet and it's getting on for 24 hours, I've read that they aren't supposed to cold call and that they need to book an appointment before they call?
Should I ask my son to give them a call if they haven't gotten back to me by tomorrow? It would be 48 hours then or is there somewhere to put a note about it in your journal?

You will be contacted but in my experience and many others it can be anything up to a week. For a message on your journal you can put it under "work coach."

Thanks Poppy!
I did 2 messages, 2 joined selected "payment" and one in appointments, no idea if I did this correctly, but I'll remember what you have said for future reference, I don't need to let the work coach know I've left messages in the journal do I? It's the things I was talking about further up in relation to the rent, being in ESA SG and a request for an home visit.
Sorry about the questions, my anxiety is kicking my bottom at the moment.
Thanks for the help.

If I don't hear anything within 7 working days should I ask my son if he can give them a call for me? They haven't even responded to the notes.
My son got his first payment yesterday, his went really smoothly.

He can contact them yes. I would expect you to be contacted soon. Based on many others on here they don’t always contact you within 24 hours.
Your first payment isn’t until towards the end of next month anyway so there’s plenty of time yet.

Ok thanks Poppy.
Just to make sure I read this correctly (elsewhere on here I think it was), I should get another payment of ESA 2 weeks after I claimed UC and then a UC payment 3 weeks after that?
My son got his IS 2 weeks after then got his UC 3 weeks after that.
I hope I've explained that properly.

Yes, that is correct.

Hello again,
CAB have advised me to leave a note in my journal to say that I don't have any of the ID to confirm my ID online, is that correct? It literally gives you an option to click I don't have 2 of these items.
What's the credit reference option?!
Then she told me that it would significantly slow the claim down and that I may not receive a payment on the payment date?
I wish I never bothered asking. I was already anxious.

Hopefully someone can answer what I asked further up.

They will accept bank statements, debit cards, a recent bill such as council tax and they also do phone biographical appointments where they will ask you questions that only you will know the answer to.
There shouldn't be any issues confirming your ID so it shouldn't slow your claim down.
I will warn in advance that very often your first payment may not be correct, if they haven't verified something on your claim.
Or the previous benefits department haven't sent the figures across to UC. If this happens any Transitional Protection you maybe entitled to may not be calculated in time for your first payment. Usually when this happens they recalculate your statement within a couple of weeks but mostly as quick as a couple of days.
I have no idea what the credit reference option is, sorry.

Hi Poppy, thanks for the info, it's always appreciated.
It's just online ID that I couldn't verify, I do have bank statements and bills but they are paperless but I'm sure I can print them off, debit cards and I have DWP letters if needed.
I don't need to put a note like the woman from CAB was saying? I thought it was odd considering it gives you an option to say you don't have the ID needed and then a message comes up in your journal saying someone will call you within 2 - 3 days (I mean it's odd her telling me to make a note about not being able to confirm online due to not having the requested ID). She tried to say otherwise they won't know.
That's ok, I've been putting money aside out of my PIP just in case, it was just the way she was making it sound, it was like she was saying it would take longer because I don't have ID and requested an home visit.
I should receive another payment of ESA next week which is when I also receive a PIP payment, so I'll put more money to one side.
Thanks again, at least the info you give doesn't flare my anxiety up.

The credit reference only works for people who have credit such as credit cards or mobile phone contracts. Basically those things are only given to people who can pay them back, so checks have already been done by the credit companies in order to access them.
You don't have to put a note in the journal about not having two pieces of photo ID. But they will probably send you a Job Centre appointment to verify ID. If you need a home visit instead, that is what you should out in the journal.
It will cause a slight delay, as it'll take a few extra days to confirm ID compared to doing it immediately online, but it shouldn't change the first payment date unless it takes more than a month to get the ID appointment.

I'm finding it a tad confusing because of different bits of information, I have been told I'd need an appointment to confirm ID if you can do it online and for the commitment thing, then I'm told you can confirm your ID via phone, then I'm told the commitment thing is supposed to come across with your ESA SG status but sometimes it's not quick enough so they will book a commitment appointment.
I was really hoping it would be like when my son migrated over it was very easy for him and he waited a few hours for the phone appointment to confirm his ID and that was it.
