Do I need to have ID? UC Managed Migration

I've still not received any notification to say that the rent element has been sorted out, is that normal?

Yes, it’s normal. You may not even receive notification that it’s been confirmed. My daughter didn’t back in January when I claimed housing element for her for the first time. It was just included in the next statement.

Ok thanks Poppy, I hope you're well :)

I didn't have my rent confirmed either, as with Poppy's daughter it appeared on my next statement.

Thanks Kimmy :)

They will also support with an online claim, this way there will be access to a journal. Not having access to a journal can be problematic for some people. The journal just makes life so much easier and you don't have to keep contacting the helpline. 😊

Is everything ok?
1 -
Quite honestly, I'm very rarely ok, constant issues with my health, the medical centre, always always anxious, worrying etc.
I'm not going to say what the face was in relation to here, it's not related to you or Vikki though.
Thanks for asking 🙂

Just wondering, how does transitional protection work? I don't know if I'll get it or not.

If your UC entitlement is less than what your legacy benefits were then you'll be entitled to TP to make up the difference.

I believe I'll be just over £100 better off pm, I used one of the online calculators, so I doubt I'll receive TP, I don't mind though.
Thanks as always Poppy, you're a big help and I managed to put a profile pic on my account of Bronn lol.

You're welcome. Glad you managed to change your profile pic too! Not everyone is entitled to TP but it's not such a bad thing because when you are entitled it's like they are freezing benefits entitlement because it erodes over time, if other elements increase.

That's what I thought Poppy, that's why I'm not really bothered.

I'm assuming that this is normal and automated with the time it was sent at?
0 -
Yes, that's normal and nothing to worry about.

Yes, it's normal.
I left a message in my journal after getting it, not realising it was automated. They didn't even acknowledge the message.

Thanks very much Poppy and @OverlyAnxious I appreciate you both and the support/advice you've given me :)
I probably would have done the same if I hadn't noticed the time.
I hope that you're both well.

Judging from my statement which I didn't think was due until the 26th, everything is fine with my UC claim, they have deducted the rent as requested.
I have sent on a copy of the calculation to council tax, do I need to tell them that my son is my carer and should be disregarded or will they see that themselves?
I'm a bit weary because when he first started to receive carers the council never added him as disregarded, I had to get onto them about it and a few years later they did it with the rent as well (obviously UC is dealing with the rent so I don't need to worry about it this time), luckily Welfare Rights told my son that he shouldn't be paying anything towards the rent and they sorted it out for him.

Sometimes your statement appears a day or two before they say it will.
I would make sure your LA know about the carers discount because with the new calculation they may not add it. Carers discount isn’t automatically added even for carers.
