This whole insomnia situation is a very big problem for me , due to a deep depression i have no motivation to anything , today i wrote a request for a higher dose of mirtazapine to my GP but it doesn’t help me sleep at night and puts me to sleep during the day , i was reported it before , its very difficult for me to force myself to text , i don’t know why i haven’t gone crazy yet i feel like a broken record repeating itself over and over

i suffer from very deep insomnia, im shocked because i discovered today that the doctor who talked to me at the beginning of the week and said that he sent already the prescription to the pharmacy he Didn’t do it , and i talked to the person at the reception about it how to make a complaint, and for me its a challenge to make a phone call

i asked to talk to the person who is manager at this surgery and also for the name and surname of this doctor because i will not leave it like that and to treat patients in such way especially with such severe depression and insomnia also bearing in mind that English is my second language and that for me making a phone call is really very difficult, And i will also tell all this to the next doctor who is calling me today to note it in my record how it affects my health,

    Thank you @Catherine21 ,

yes it is awful indeed , and the inability to fall into a deep sleep phase ,zoplicone tablets help a little, i will have a conversation with the manager of the clinic because the previous doctor said that he sent already the prescription to the pharmacy and he did not do it and i was happy when i finished the conversation with this doctor regarding sleeping tablets ( which lasted only a few minutes) and i thought that he was so reliable.

im wishing you a nice day ahead and im sending you warm hugs, please take care, kind regards.

40 years of it.no wonder my healths as bad as it is and getting worse. Gp couldn't give a fig.we don't give sleeping pills she said.. I didn't ask for any i replied nor would I want them. So never got any help. I do the eye rolling thing with closed eyes, sounds stupid, I know.

You roll your eyes up to back of your head twice ,I think it kinda triggers sleep, my friend told me about it only v recently. I tried it a few times. I got two hrs straight sleep both times. Not in all those years have I,it's usually 20 mins at a time. Dealing with a lot of ongoing chronic stomach pain past two years apart from all my other conditions is holding me back from any kind of life. I'm drained of will power and energy.

Hi Agnia, your doctor may not be at fault here - it may be the pharmacy if it is a branch of Superdrug. They had a major problem recently processing prescription requests and blamed GP surgeries for not sending them over. I changed pharmacies and wish I had done this years ago. My script is now always ready when I turn up to collect it, no waiting, no discussion or disappointment.

Hi @WhatThe , thank you for writing to me , my pharmacy is fine they checked it and they didn’t have the prescription on their computer and it wasn’t in process because the doctor did not send it to them , my pharmacy is not Superdrug, i talked to a lady who works at the reception desk at my surgery and she confirmed that the doctor did not send the prescription and he told me and assured me that he had already done it and she also informed me about the complaint procedure, and the next doctor wrote everything in my record.

    Please take care, kind regards.

So glad I found this thread. I have CP and rarely thought it might affect my chest and make my insomnia worse. I am in my 60's now and am surprised at how much my health has declined since I entered this decade. The spasticity on my left side has worsened and is so painful. The whole of my left side feels rigid especially in the colder months. From October to March I hardly sleep, I slump to the left, have terrible pain from the SCM muscle in my neck and its referred pain. It catches my breath and I have a racing heart, especially when I lie on my left side. I also have bad arthritis in my right hand following years of overuse.

My GP is no help. We have to contact them via Econsult now and they rarely address the content of the Econsult. Instead they send a brief text saying what meds they will prescribe or when then next script is due. No understanding or advice given. My Zopiclone script was suddenly reduced from 15 x 3.75mg tabs per month to 8pm in January and is being reduced by 1 tab each month till they're gone. In 2020 I had a computer guided injection in my shoulder and the effect was brilliant. I could straighten up and stretch my neck. My chest opened up and my posture improved. Pain levels dropped considerably. The benefits lasted a year but I haven't been able to get another one since.

We are all aware of the stress the NHS is under but I do wonder why GP's /NHS don't do annual reviews on people with chronic/lifelong conditions. If I could have 1 injection per year it would be a huge help. I live alone and my mobility is increasingly restricted year on year hence the awareness of chest pain which I ignored previously. The ageing process is bringing added problems. The lack of sleep makes me confused and lethargic. I have less ability to search for self help techniques and would appreciate GP advice but it's not forthcoming. I feel frustrated. If I could sleep I'd be better equipped to care for myself. I realise sleeping pills can be addictive and I'm running out of options.

Any tips would be much appreciated.
