They trying to get me more only 7 days to respond never answered my complaint. It's not easy read nor contract. I need help to help me I got no one eles i a loner. Social worker close case there has I have capital.

The home trumatised me and I did report tothe quality commission thing in wales. I asked for copy of contract care plan i signed and notes on me there. I needed A complant response. And got jargon about me signing a contract I did not understand. And lied to me. My family have needs too. And we not educated enough to do this.

So I need 1. Legal advice to help or a advocote to help apparently I now have 7 days to agree to something finical or disagree if I do not respond or agree to something I do not under stand that want more money big figers.

    Hi @Piglets12, it sounds like you've had an awful experience with this care home. Do you want to talk a little bit more about your experience?

    Has the Care Inspectorate given you any advice on what you can do? As they can also give advice on your situation sometimes.

    You can also look up your local Citizen's Advice Bureau to see if there are any advocates available, or they can help point you in the right direction for a local advocate.

    Hi @Piglets12

    I agree with @Jimm_Scope. It sounds as though you have had a terrible time.

    You could also try contacting the Disability Law Service for advice.

    @Piglets12

    I felt very sad reading about the problems you had with your care home in Wales. Below, I’ve provided some information based on your post, and I hope you find it helpful.

    Even though you no longer live in Wales, you should contact the Public Services Ombudsman for Wales. Explain your situation, including the demands from the care home, and they can guide you on how to proceed with your complaint. You can reach their office at 0300 790 0203, and their advisors will be happy to assist you through the complaint process.

    The financial aspects and contract terms require careful consideration, which can be challenging to navigate quickly, especially without legal advice. I suggest formally requesting a 30-day extension to the 7-day deadline set by the care home, explaining that you are seeking advocacy and legal advice. You can make this request in writing or by email. If you opt for a written request, consider using special delivery(tracked post) and keep proof of posting, as this documentation may be useful in case of any disputes.

    If the care home denies your request for an extension or if you’re unable to understand their terms by the deadline, inform them in writing or by email that you need more time or assistance to make an informed decision. It’s important they understand your situation.

    In the meantime, I recommend submitting a Subject Access Request (SAR) to the care home. This will require them to provide all personal data they hold about you, including your care plan, contract, and relevant notes. Having this information is crucial for understanding how they have managed your case and can support any claims or complaints you wish to make.

    If the care home doesn’t respond or refuses your requests, you may need to escalate the matter. For the SAR, you can lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). Additionally, if they pressure you without due consideration regarding the extension, this could also be part of your complaint to the ombudsman or through legal channels.
    Best of luck! The Ombudsman's office opens at 09.00 am tomorrow morning phone number in second paragraph above xx
