I’m not sure if the journalist/reporter has had zero experience regarding the lives of the majority of disabled people?
While it would be nice if every person was able to do exactly what they wanted in life, the reality is far different for most, disabled or not.

Reading this, it strikes me that the reporter doesn’t seem to realise that the young man in the article actually has had far more opportunities given to him than the vast majority of children/ adults with disabilities. I’m glad for him that he has, obviously, but the article is quite narrow. It wouldn’t have been difficult to find a disabled person who wasn’t able to access any of these opportunities, and whose life prospects were far more significantly impacted.

I’m not disagreeing at all that there needs to be massive improvement.
