Connecting the dots in an infant’s early development
Connecting the dots in an infant’s early development - Cerebral Palsy Scotland
This webinar will provide Health Visitors and parents with practical ideas to support your baby’s development and milestone achievements. We will discuss strategies to support ongoing gross motor skill progression and recommendations on when/where to refer onwards for further support if concerns persist.
In this session you will learn:
- What are the building blocks of developmental milestones and how do they interlink together?
- Understanding the importance of certain “pre-skills” required for milestone attainment
- What are quick red flags to look for during an assessment or play time?
- Safe and easy strategies you can implement to encourage your baby’s progress
The session will include a mixture of presentations, demonstration of items and practical considerations that can be directly translated into daily practice. Opportunity will be given for questions and discussion at the end of the webinar.
Additional Information:
- While some of the case examples used will be of children who have cerebral palsy, much of the content will be transferrable for those working with children who present with varying degrees of developmental delay
- A copy of the presentation and a certificate of attendance will be provided to participants on completion of the webinar
Lastly, a complimentary quick guide resource summarising the important pre-skills necessary for milestone progression will be provided upon completion of our feedback form.
