I like my train 🚂 🚄🚅🚆 journeys, I am such a fanatic of the railways and I use trains 🚊 a lot. I use e-tickets, I’m fine with them. I add them to my Apple Wallet but for my Disabled Person’s Railcard, I use a plastic version.

Rail passengers that are entitled to a railcard can use a digital version but I prefer the plastic version of a railcard. It’s down to preference ✅✔️☑️.

I’ll share this - 😂😂😂. When I use e-tickets, it sends me crazy when a conductor doesn’t make their way through the train 🚆 to check tickets with a handheld device. I also don’t like it when barriers at railways stations 🚉 are left open. In theory you can just walk through them when they’re left open but I’m not like that. ❌

I still scan tap my e-ticket on the see-through QR code scanner a few times. I like to know that my e-ticket for a journey has been scanned at least one. At the end of the day, QR codes are designed to be scanned. 😂😂😂

Oh so it’s possible that my final payment from them it won’t be the full £318.10, it’ll be less than that? That’s what I always get from them every 14 days @Kimmy87.

I won’t be asking for an advance payment ❌, I’m not seeing my payments being affected for two years. Loans are a big NO. It’s never been my intention to ask for one.

I've deleted that post because I saw afterwards you have planned your dates out carefully. If there is a full two weeks due when you claim UC, then that is what you should get.

My ESA payments have always been £318.10 because the Severe Disability Premium isn’t included in that amount, only the Enhanced Disability Premium. @Kimmy87
If it was included I’d obviously be getting something in the £400 to £500 region.
My mother is my carer, she gets Carer’s Allowance weekly. That’s why I’ve never had the SDP in my ESA.0 -

I was hoping that I’d still be due a final ESA payment at the FULL amount of £318.10.
Yes, I’ve planned my dates out carefully. The first full week of February is the best time for me to get that claim in and not any sooner.
Claim to be submitted on Wed 5th Feb, the same day as an ESA payment. 2 weeks later on the 19th Feb, I get the two week run on payment.0 -

I like trains too, but having to 'bum shuffle" off the blighters is somewhat undignified.

I love using trains as well, one of my favourite ways to travel. Far more comfortable than a plane or bus, can do other things more easily unlike in a car. Also more environmentally friendly than cars or planes.

Do you happen to have a favourite section of track to travel on? I love the east coast section along the Northumberland coastline where it goes right up to the cliffs.

I wouldn’t say that I have a stand-out favourite line @Jimm_Scope. I like all railways lines. At the end of the day, any section of line is a railway line.

If you see further up my thread @Jimm_Scope, I’m getting an ESA payment on Wednesday. That means I could’ve put in a claim for UC this week but I’m still not going to initiate the claim this week. I do that, in my 5 week wait for the first payment of UC I would have a 3 week gap without any funds going into my bank account.

By doing the claim in 16 days’ time on Wednesday 5th Feb, instead of this week, in my 5 week wait I won’t encounter a 3 week gap without money after my final ESA payment. @Jimm_Scope
04/02/2025 PIP payment, 05/02/2025 ESA payment, 19/02/2025 receive the final payment of ESA, 04/03/2025 PIP payment, 11/03/2025 first payment of UC.
⬆️ No 3 week gap in that timeline, I’m helped out by a PIP payment on 4th March. I claim this week, I encounter a 3 week gap after my last payment from ESA.
Doing the claim on 5th Feb is absolute perfect timing ⏱️.0 -
The 11th of each month won’t be my only payment date, there will be a second payment date in each month for my claim. That’s OBVIOUSLY 😂 because I have to get paid twice a month due to not having that ability to budget monthly. @Jimm_Scope
