Labour doubles down on slashing billions from DWP's disability benefits bill

my award is up next April so I should get my form anytime this year . I’m hoping for a paper based assessment ( as I’m sure we all are) this time as I’ve heard they’re doing more of them.

I hope PIP isn’t replaced, I don’t want it to be replaced with a different benefit.

PIP needs its design to be tweaked, it doesn’t need to be completely replaced.

I’d like the ‘unnecessary reassessments’ to go away for disabled people that will simply never get better, like me. I am absolutely chuffed to receive the top award from PIP (enhanced rate for daily living, enhanced rate for mobility).

It’s a great feeling to receive the best award possible, I am deserving of every single penny.

My autism will never improve, I have had my diagnosis since aged 3. Anyone who’s autistic will always be autistic. You don’t just wake up one morning and all of the sudden you no longer have autism.

My last PIP review was completed last year (2024) in March. My award was extended to March 2028. My next review is just over 2 years away, in March 2027.

I shouldn’t have to keep repeating the same info that PIP already have down on file about me.

It’s ridiculous, you shouldn’t have to keep repeating yourself every 3 years.

I wasn’t getting the maximum award back in the Disability Living Allowance days. I was getting the middle rate for the care component and the lower rate for the mobility component but my award was an indefinite award 👍.
My next review is still just over 2 years away but it angers me that I’ll have repeat the same info that they already know. 😡🤬

PIP would actually save themselves a lot of hassle, and probably lots of money, if they would just stop reassessing people with conditions who won’t improve. That’s what needs to change with PIP.

That’s what I liked about DLA, that you could get an indefinite award 👍.

I also hope the LCRWA group on Universal Credit isn’t going to be scrapped. 🤬😡🤬😡
I’m in the middle of moving across to UC from the ESA Support Group. I have never been able to work. The world of work wouldn’t be the correct place for me. There would be too many challenges, too many changes of routine in the workplace, that I wouldn’t cope with. The working day can vary from day to day.
My first UC payment is just under 3 weeks away, on 12 March 📆🗓️📅. Why should disabled people who can’t work have a significant chunk of their income cruelly taken away from them just to save the government some money?! 🤬😡

To the MPs, it’s like we don’t contribute as much towards society because we don’t have jobs but we are still human beings 😡🤬.

It’s f****** disgusting 🤢 (sorry for the language 👍) how disabled people are targeted by governments. It’s obvious that Labour are just as cruel as the Conservatives were towards the disabled 🤬😡.

We’re entitled to respect but we just don’t get it from the MPs. They should target the rich more, tax them more, instead of targeting the disabled 😡🤬. We deserve a life just as much as those who can work.
