Me & my partner both have lcwra on a joint claim but obviously we only get the one payment. My daughter has recently been awarded dla so i was wondering if i can claim carers allowance for her?

The person that doesn't receive the LCWRA element amount can claim carers element of UC providing your daughters DLA award includes either mid/high rate care. To claim this you'll need to report a change, then click caring for someone and report it this way. You can ask for it to be backdated to the start of the DLA award.

If you claim carers allowance it will be deducted in full from any UC entitlement.

Please also note, that if your UC also includes Transitional Protection, claiming carers element would reduce that TP. Whether you're better off will depend on how much the TP is.

You will also be entitled to disabled child element. If she's been awarded high rate care then you'll be entitled to the higher disabled child element, if it's any other award it will be the lower disabled child element. The same rules apply here for any Transitional Protection that maybe included with your claim.

Perfect so my partner was awarded lcwra first, then i was awarded it a few month later. So i should put the claim in for carers. My daughter has received hrc & lrm.

Yes you will be able to claim carers element. To confirm you will also be entitled to higher disabled child element.
