Hello, can I have a reasonable adjustment of just letting my work coach know of updates via text?

Hello there,
I've had an adjustment of phone calls at the moment made, but has anyone known if Universal Credit will made adjustments so that updates to the work coach can be done via text on the journal instead of phone appointments that are mandatory?
I have ASD, and I'm finding anymore pressure right now from the work coach is too much, and I was curious if that is something that can be accommodated.
Thanks.

Hi,
These updates need to be a two-way appointment type of thing. I don't think they'll allow you to do it via text.
However there's no harm in asking. If you're LCW then you can also ask your work coach to reduce your current work commitments if they're causing too much pressure on you.

Hi @Rumbler303, If you feel able to, it does sound like it might be a good idea to chat to your work coach about what you're going through at the moment. They may be able to make some adjustments to your commitments as OverlyAnxious mentioned or chat through the best way of doing things.
Hope you can get things sorted 😊

These updates are supposed to be meetings, whether by phone or in person. However, there is no harm in asking. I would also suggest reviewing what your claimant commitment is and whether these updates are part of that.

Thanks everyone, I'll see how I get off with phone for now but may do text appointments, I have ASD and I'm going through a lot at the moment.
Do you think he'll be okay if my Mum conveys what I'm going through to him instead? I'm finding any type of work commitments right now or any potential ones too pressurizing.

Also, if you're in fit for work/LCW there's no way that you can't do these appointments? I suppose by me doing it over text and giving updates there was what I mean by that, but I'm assuming that generally everyone has to do it?

Yes if fit for work or LCW you do have to engage with a work coach.

Also hi everyone again but will the work coach be okay with my Mum conveying the information if need be when she supports me over the phone?

Hey @Rumbler303 yes your mum can speak on your behalf, but you'll need to confirm you're in the room with her.
