Upcoming changes to benefits

I read someone's financial times post on the other closed thread, ministers saying that "PIP was never meant for mental illness" is actually preposterous. Look at the most severe mental illnesses and tell me that they can function on their own?
I saw on Peston, via ITV that ministers are looking to cut the LCWRA group payments by 25 to 50% but they haven't come to a definitive conclusion.

Does anyone know how long it will take before thay will start all these benafit cuts. Surely thay can't just stop and cut payments anytime soon

There is a 38 Degrees petition about the benefits cuts that people can sign. https://act.38degrees.org.uk/act/no-cruel-cuts-to-benefits?utm_source=email&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=blast98589

You spot on, Billions have been wasted mucking around retesting people, moving people between Benefits, and its not mad a dam difference, and here we go again.
I have read that in Scotland the last remaining "indefinite/for life awards on DLA are being moved over to "Scottish DLA" and just left. Scottish Government I believe will not waste any more money on retesting etc people who will not change plus were made claims 20 years ago, thus the rug wont be pulled from under their feet. Yes DLA was hard to get but PIP even harder..

On the other hand : The Commission on Social Security, an independent group set up by the Trust for London and made up of people with lived experience of the welfare system, has also suggested replacing PIP with a tiered “Additional Costs Disability Payment” system to create a more fair and dignified system.
The Commission on Social Security has proposed three payment levels:
- £83.70 per week (£334.80 every four weeks) for minimal support.
- £152.15 per week (£608.60 every four weeks) for moderate support.
- £230.77 per week (£923.08 every four weeks) for those with significant needs.
The Commission stated: “We are putting forward proposals for a reimagined social security system that is designed by and works for those who rely on it. It would be vastly different from the current system.”

Keir Starmer likes to think he's Judge Jeffreys when in reality he's just Gordon Brittas, he should be running a Sports Centre not the country.

I'm sure this government get some weird thrill out of punishing the most vunerable and poor members of society.
They all have such smug looks on their faces.

They should leave everyone on esa alone not migrate over to uc. Leave pip alone .cut the 19 billion to chagos islands, millions thrown abroad for shrimp farms in India etc with the foreign aid budget. I know some been cut. Foreign aid should be used for disasters not vanity projects, another give prisoners poetry lessons in South America.

Shocked by the news and would never have thought labour would do this,
