I'm not sure Catherine. Hopefully someone will come along and advise.

"Mixing with other people" is my 4 points. Supporting evidence was primarily from GP.
TP is transitional protection, it is a sort of grand fathering process to compensate people for financial losses on changes to benefits. Usually its used to compensate for payment reductions, not for entire loss of eligibility, so I dont know how they would handle the TP specifically for PIP as I assume it would be time limited in some way.2 -
Try to keep your head up. I'm new here but I feel better than I did yesterday when I was having some very dark thoughts. I'm hopeful this site will really help me feel a lot less lonely and catastrophizing everything.
None of us are sure of our position yet because the full details haven't been fleshed out, and it's all subject to change anyway as its scrutinized in both houses by MPs/Lords.
We're all full of fear, uncertainty and doubt.

I was thinking maybe once it is combined so it's only PIP that we can apply for, maybe changes will be made to it and it wont be as difficult to be awarded it.

I'm definitely not joining the LK fan club, but she did at least get rid of the Tories desired voucher scheme that she said she was always against. But yes, some of LK's harsh language and rhetoric to appeal to voters has been appalling for the mental health of many, many of us.

@Catherine21 substantial risk I expect to be included in the reassessment plans. But please remember its my interpretation of the green paper, and there is always a chance they will back out of the reassessments. They did state they will be looking at the reasons, prognosis etc. and given the capacity issues I wouldnt be surprised if some people dont get reassessed again.

I haven't been able to keep up with both threads but read most of the now closed one. I just wanted to say my heart goes out to everyone who is suffering real anxiety and proper "fear" over this. Its great that we have this forum though. What a response and a big thankyou to all the clever people who are contributing and staying abreast of it all and providing valuable information to us all.
I do get PIP but I think I am ok for now at least but only just. I have just one score that hits the now magic "4" so I think (if I have this right) for now at least I should be ok. Just a swish of a pen though next time to not be.

Can anyone confirm if it's 4 points needed in any one of the many daily living descriptors please? I didn't get 4 in any one alone, but it added up to 12 for the whole of daily living, sorry to ask but I can't see it anywhere?
I would imagine you will stay as you are until up for an assessment (she hopes!) They surely can't change all this now and where do people find jobs? Thank you in advance.

Yes its going to be one score of 4 points in daily living to qualify for pip
1 -
That's the same one as me. Given symptoms of that descriptor have destroyed much of my life, and I'm sure yours…. inability to cope with school, inability to properly socialise with others, shut away for days/weeks, inability to work normally, inability to do many, many tasks that require communication and face-to-face interactions. Loneliness drives the depression, necessary interaction drives the anxiety, as does uncertainty (such as this current reforming the welfare state mess).
If they can just drop all this stuff off the descriptors, then thats abandoning us and a very obvious debilitating condition. In my mind, I think it compromises the very essence of human existence. When I look out the window sometimes and watch people drinking, laughing, and doing things together, I wish it could be me.

I'm on standard rate mobility, Had 4 points only on daily living, Also get lcwra.…Will I lose lcwra or will I be ok while I've got standard pip mobility??
0 -
This is a very good point, the DWP wont save money on their long term health plans by removing someone from LCWRA if the claimant has PIP daily living, so I do expect people in receipt of that might be less likely to get another WCA.
1 -
I would think your friend will be considered "severely disabled".
0 -
I would hope so. Otherwise it would indicate majority of mental health sufferers will not qualify. And also raises the question about disabilities that are not covered in PIP.
1 -
This here definitely sounds like the time limit is for new claimants.
“54. Alongside levelling up the rate, this change would end the indefinite entitlement to contributory ESA for those assessed as having limited capability for work-related activity (for new people claiming)”
2 -
So... does this mean you have to have scored at least 4 points on EVERY single one of the Daily Living descriptors? Or just one of them? I don't really understand.
0 -
thank god no vouchers but how many will actually get pip now baring in mind it mostly depends on who your assessor is .

With the current stated plans, you will need at least one descriptor in daily living that scores 4 points or more to be eligible for a daily living award. It is cruel as they trying to claim someone with 4 points in one category is more vulnerable than someone with 4 points combined from 2 categories.
This will only apply on the first review after the rule changes are in place, existing rewards honoured.
They are considering either a lower daily living or temporary TP for people who lose eligibility from the 4 point rule, but they are not plans, just under consideration at the moment.1
