Hi there with all these benefit announcements which are very very concerning it's left me a little confused. I was noted as having LWC in 2021 . Went on universal credit . But just standard amount for couple no extra for LWC . I then got awarded PIP and my husband gets Carers for me . After reading countless posts on here I see alot people actually get an extra amount due to LWC and wondered should I also be getting an extra amount for this ? Or am I not entitled as I get pip and my husband gets Carers ?

Hoping someone can offer some advice .

    Hi,

If you were awarded LCW before 2017 then you'll still get paid for it.

If you were awarded LCW after 2017 then there is no additional payment for that.

Ah okay so anyone who's got it after 2017 doesn't get any extra . So apart from the PIP changes the LWC announcements today won't affect me as such ?

Yes, that's correct. I'm afraid I haven't been following the changes today so can't comment on those, I will catch up with them later.
