Hi, I’m a mom of four and I take care of my disabled sister. She has cerebral palsy .
I have a problem with the housing and I really need help with any advice of what to do.
We live in a 3bedroom rented house and joined the house register 2.5 years ago when my sister had a really bad fall on the stairs and since then her condition is getting worse and she is not even trying the stairs anymore, she has to sleep in the dining room and I have to use commode for her at night as the toilet is upstairs when I try to take her upstairs during the day she is putting all her weight on me as she is so stressed and scared it’s affecting me and her . I asked the gp to refer her back and her case worker sent a letter to the housing but nothing changed and we are still in band 3.
I am not in a good position and I feel stuck and helpless please let me know if you had a situation like that before and how you dealt with it and any suggestions or advice. Thank you very much.

Your local authority social housing website should assist you.
It will have details of allocation policy/who qualifies for band 2, and details of the appeal process if you disagree with a banding decision.

Hi @sunshine93 and welcome to the community 😊 Bless you, it looks like you look after everyone around you. Do you have some support in place? I can see @Kimmy87 has advised about the housing association so I won't add anything more about that.
Whilst on the forum, you might be interested in our Cerebral Palsy Network. Alternatively, if you just fancy a chat with some of our lovely members, please try the Coffee Lounge
Best wishes,

Thanks Holly , I don’t really have any support , I found about this community while searching through the internet today. My local council is Waltham Forest but I don’t think they put me in the right band with my sister condition it should be more urgent and my biggest struggle right now is the housing and Thank You so much really appreciate your kindness.
