Hi, my name is Icklepea1!

Hi everyone, I am just looking for some advice and not sure if anyone can help at this time but my wife has been on standard rate PIP since December 2021 and has been awarded it until March 2029. My wife has fybromyalgia and mental health concerns. Both her and myself are extremely worried that she will now be kicked off this entitlement much earlier. This is down to the announcement by the government yesterday that you need 4 points in any one category to qualify. We have revisited her original claim form and award and found that she does not have the 4 points needed in any of the categories although I believe she should have been awarded this in at least 2 of the categories due to her movement difficulties. I see her struggling more and more every day and the help I have to give her for everyday activities. I am sure that most of the questions on here today will be about this as there are so many people in the same boat that are beyond their wits end with this but any advice would be grateful. Many thanks.

Bless you @Icklepea1, you're not alone with these worries at all. A lot of the community share these concerns, so hopefully you find it helpful and supportive being here. Please don't worry too much at the moment. The announcement and green paper were very much the first steps and now we're entering consultation, it allows us the opportunity to respond. And by the looks of it, the community are ready to do that! 💪
It might be helpful to keep an eye on our main discussion about this - The Green Paper Discussion where most of our members (and we have lots of knowledgeable and supportive members) are discussing this.
