@LadyTinks That's absolutely ridiculous what on earth. The fact that this is allowed is mental

Did you all miss that at 12.45pm she said there will be no tax rises/increases!!!!
So the wealthy will continue not to pay their way and yet get richer while those of us that are ill or disabled will lose everything! Of course provided it all goes through….my personal opinion is that all will go through. I will quite literally lose everything including my house.
I think I will also lose the housing benefit part of UC if I read everything correctly.

Remember they could have made up the money from anywhere else they CHOSE to target disabled people using those with mental health on LWRCA as EXCUSE.
Remember they could have easily target mental health claimants directly if they CHOSE to but they have ignored that and are hitting everyone with these reduction to benefits.
All they had to do is say anyone with mental health now needs to engage with a work coach to determine if they are on the right benefit or support. IT IS A VERY SIMPLE THING. They are not targeting those that can work, they are targeting and affecting those that are most vulnerable.
Many people have lifelong illness. Many people can not speak up for themselves. These are really ill, vulnerable people who have no one to help them. I am very angry at this all.

Cut the bloody immigrant expenses why target ill&disabled😡😡they should be ashamed

When will the Government release the impact assessment on all of this?

A Lib Dem MP (I think it was Lib Dems) asked a series of great questions and addressing disability benefits and the cuts and the concerns around them. Reeves barely even touched on it. Why is there a sudden need for all of this defence spending? The way that she keeps mentioning the "economic boost" how about the people in this country? Focus on people FOR ONCE rather than figures. My past Maths teachers cared less about numbers/figures than these lot.

My MP said it should be this week. I'd say next week instead seeing as it's Wednesday but I'm unsure. Just reiterating what my MP emailed me

Any news on the new style ESA/CB support group?

Hi ladytinks will this 'cut' only apply to new claimants ?

So is lcwra esa or UC and pip wasn't mentioned so still Nov next year. Sorry its all gone over my anxious head 🙏

Obviously speaking just for myself. No amount of cuts in my 'benefits' will give me a choice then to try work. If I had a choice to try work I'd have done it already, in the last two years, and under my own steam, since being on welfare support after being dismissed twice since Feb 21 for having Long Covid and for having given so much to my patients, as a nurse, and catching Covid three times during the course of my job and with no PPE. Ill bet my life on it that some of the very same people outside clapping on a Thursday evening are the exact same people agreeing with government cuts now. So some of us will truly be destitute to lose c 700.00 a month. I will fight this as best I can but at 62 and housebound, I've already accepted that I'll be done by the time I'm 65 (potentially losing PIP then LCWRA). It's hard enough living like this. And it's not even a case of not being willing to endure or suffer the further hardship; this government are ensuring that even that won't be an option. For all my inner strength even I can't live on fresh air.

Yes I think they've timetabled it like this because they've got to get these changes passed by both parliaments and into law. Scope estimated at least one year before these "reforms" become law, and it seems like the government have given themselves several months longer than that.

I noticed that too and there were more questions asked about the pip cuts and an explanation, but she proceeds to answer the question with something completely irrelevant.
very worrying as they obviously don’t have the answers because they are indefensible proposals that can not be defended, and it’s looking very likely they just going to go ahead with them anyway.1 -
from the benefit and work site, quoting the obr report. Coming for the substantial risk category will kill people. I’m trying really hard not to melt down right now
3 -
People with mental health have lifetime disabilities I'm 53 had since 13 first time tried to ...... so pls do not go there
10 -
So no mps contested does that mean they won't them

the cut to lcwra will be bad, I get that as well as carers part, if I don’t get the 4 pts on pip, lose it all!
Either half, or none!
They will push people to work who can’t, I’m in 60s, been on pip 6 years, only last 3 I’ve not been able to, feel like I’m gonna get punished for working most of my life, then can’t due to health

Reeves - show your real face …

But But… Keir Starmer had a disabled mother and brother.
The guy is feckless there's no other word. "working people" "hard working people"
so OAPs disabled and other groups are clearly not wanted, 5 years goes quick
Labour will NEVER get another vote from us here. They can change leader and drop everything I am done already joined Plaid Cymru.

Glad that others noticed too, there's been a lot going on this afternoon with this statement. The amount of things I've missed on it that I only know because of here! As you say, they SERIOUSLY do not have the answers because it's indefensible. I've emailed my MP again. Felt bad because I'm very angry and she's in support of us but I wasn't rude at all, just direct and apologised for my anger at the end of the email.
I'm still listening to the questions and Reeves is STILL saying "economic boost, get people into work". There's no acknowledgement on their part that cutting PIP will do NOTHING for that because PIP isn't an out-of-work benefit. If these proposed changes somehow get through, I will be mindblown to say the least considering it potentially violates the Equality Act and the Human Rights Act.
