Help with disability aids

Hi, sorry if this is the wrong category I'm very new here (made an account only a few minutes ago)
I've gotten a diagnosis last year and have only just warmed to the idea of using an aid, I feel a bit anxious about it and worried people in my life will think I'm exaggerating.
I ideally need a cane or a wheelchair but I'm really hesitant since I can go out and about with lots of sitting breaks and time to rest, I guess I feel a bit guilty about the idea of using them? I'm not too sure.
I was hoping I could get some advice on how to get over some of my anxieties? Or if anyone feels similarly because I'm feeling quite alone in all this at the minute 😅

Welcome to the community @ThornHub67 it's good to have you here. 😊
I can totally empathise with your situation. We often feel the only time we should use a walking aid is if we're on the floor and physically cant walk. But please remember they're there to make things easier for us and many people use walking canes.
I'm sure all your friends would understand and support you in being able to get around a bit easier. 😁
I'm currently on crutches, but often use a little telescopic walking cane, so I can slip it in a bag if I don't need it. But it is so good knowing it's there IF I need it,1 -
That's exactly how I'm feeling! but I guess I should try and get over my 'if I technically can, I must' mentality.
I think using a cane I can put in my bag might be a nice place to start, that way I could build up my confidence?
Thank you so much! I appreciate your reply (:
