    I only ever wore high heels once and the heal of one of them broke so I had to walk home bare foot.

    It was so painful.

    I can't walk in heals and I actually love the comfort of flats.

    Luckily where I live in a surfing town most people go for flats.

    I don't often wear skirts or dresses but here we can get lovely flat sandals, sparkly or with flowers and they look so pretty.

    I'm sure you will have a wonderful time at the wedding and you will look amazing.

    Oh dear @luvpink that was a terrible experience in breaking your shoe. Ouch! Even though you don't wear dresses or skirts, do you wear feminine pants? You gave me a great idea to see if I can decorate my frumpy shoes. Wow! Even though you didn't mean to. Thank you!!! I need flat shoes with a wide toe box and extra-large size and a cushioned inside sole with hard outside sole. As such, most of them are men's shoes. They just don't carry large women's sizes here. The largest is typically a 41. So my shoes are not feminine at all. But decorations.....? 😊 Mmmm....

    Here are my favourite silver bracelets from Mom. The top left green one is actually stone, but I put it in the pic because I think I'll wear it to the wedding.

    My hair was very difficult, and I had to use a whole lot of product, two round brushes of different sizes, a hair dryer and a curling iron. I did it sitting down, which I'll do from now on. It was a challenge! At one point, I almost gave up.....

    Yes I tend to dress very feminine and lots of pretty colours.

    I like to colour co-ordinate and have nice inexpensive jewellery to compliment outfits.

    Hi @StarryEyed I started wearing flats about five years ago when I had a few falls when my right knee kept giving way

    I did not like it at first as most of my clothes were made to wear with heels and looked dreadful with flats.

    But when it is flats or falls no choice.

    I am only small and wears shoes and sandals with flowers on and sparkly. Quite dressy.

    Having said that I'm considering in investing in a pair of crocs

    I tend to go for comfort as well as not being able wear heals.

    The only downside of buying a pair of crocs is that you won't want to wear any other shoe again @luvpink! They're too comfy!

    I wear medical insoles, so, although I love Crocs, I am wearing socks inside my wool slippers, which I find too much at this time of year.

    I gave 3 pairs of Crocs to a local charity shop recently, I was distraught! 😞

    I was a Crocs convert last year … very very comfy. Although my Podiatrist has warned me off wearing them long term daily, due to poor arch support and the 'toe gripping' because of no back

    That said I can't see me wearing anything else in the garden

    Some really beautiful jewellery pieces on display here. When I was doing graphic design as a hobby I 'created' some pieces, but never got around to making them be alive.

    Now no money and no inclination 😏

    Some people I know said to buy lined ones otherwise you may get blisters?

    I have fur lined ones too and I do find them more comfortable than the regular ones but the regular ones are still very comfy and a bit more practical for spring/summer I've found @luvpink

    Oh how wonderful to see everyone so chatty! Love it! Thanks for all your input. I'm making tons of progress. The hair fascinator came in yesterday and it's a little more than passable. Giving it a think. The purse also came in and is perfect. I bought the neural taupe so I can wear it with any colour and any time of the year. Although I managed to get my hair almost perfect within 15 mins after my Boris shot, within 2 hours it went all Boris again. I restyled it and two hours later, back to the Boris do. It turns out my products were all very, very expired. I had no idea they expire. So the next day (yesterday) I bought lots of new products and have been having fun trying different styles. Lots of fun!

    Your comments about the Crocs have got me thinking... Although I am not interested in Crocs because they accentuate my already-embarrassingly-oversized feet, they've put a fourth pair of shoes in the running that I hadn't considered, which are similar to the Crocs sponge material. Mmmm.... Will keep you posted....

    Again, thank you for your feedback, suggestions and experiences. What a team effort. πŸ™πŸΌπŸ˜˜β€οΈ

    @Santosha12 what kind of cancer did your Mom have? Is she still with us? I had bilateral breast cancer with four tumours (2 malignant, 2 benign) so had the full treatment (chemo, radiation and surgery). ....Oh the little sponge rollers?? Lol! I forgot about those. ....You know, I too am getting to quite enjoy my time at home. So, yeah, I get it. ....Indeed that patience thing is quite a gift. Very handy in many situations. πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘πŸΌ

    @luvpink that's what I'm planning on doing too - amping up the colours and feminine fabrics and jewellery. I love being feminine and there are so many ways to express that. You're quite right. I put a second piercing in one of my ears a few weeks ago to also help with that. Tomorrow I'm going secondhand clothes shopping with one of my besties. Yay!

    @WelshBlue that's cool that you like the jewellery. Next I'll post the silver rings Mom gave me. They're some of the nicest rings I've ever owned.

    I haven't been to have my hair cut since I was about 15 - I'm now 32

    I spent my darkest "survival mode" years cutting it with a pocket knife and now I'm in a better place literally & psychologically I haven't been back but I'm thinking about it

    It's still something that would cause me some anxiety though. It's kind of mixing a few different anxieties together. Social anxiety of course; OCD/touching and stuff; and also body dysmorphia

    I've been told about a good barber/hairdresser place which a few people I know use and it's friendly toward people with anxiety and things so I'm thinking about going there

    Get a head shaver, I have used one for many years. I buy a new cutting head every 6-9 months, and couldn't tell you which decade i was last in a barber's shop.

    Hi @66Mustang. 😊 I'm sorry you too have hairdresser issues. It sucks. But now I'm so pleased to have gone because the quality of cut is something I could never have done myself. So the pain was worth it in the end. Maybe you could lure yourself with a special cut? That's interesting that this barber is friendly about anxiety. Do you know what is done to decrease anxiety?

    @WelshBlue and @ColonelBlink I too have one of those electric shavers. They're such fun! Come mid to late June, I'll be shaving the back of my head as it's the only way to survive the summer. My brother has done that since his 20s, but he does his whole head. Not a good look on me. 😊

    Yes, @WelshBlue it's a turquoise ring. The pics are kind of blurry. I'll take a better pic of that ring. It's one of my faves too.
