Thank you @Starryeyed, My apologies for my delay in replying to you, I hope this sends after trying a little while ago. I hope the weather is good for you tomorrow and that you have a perfect day, I'll be thinking of you πŸ€—.

I don't think, despite trying, that I could ever quite emulate my mum in my health struggles, especially her stoicism, but I'm a trier! Humour and music helped get her through everything and I find it does for me too.

I was trying to reply to @Welshblue earlier today (it was surpringly a bit too long πŸ˜‰πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜…) so I'll try again but it did remind me that 2020 and from August 2022 were our 'annus horribilis', especially the lockdowns, I'm sure 2020 was for so many people.

It did remind me though of when mum came to stay at mine in 2020 and, despite undergoing daily radiotherapy and her exhaustion at the journey, we had the most laughs ever. Proper belly laughs especially at 'Steptoe & Son', 'Fawlty Towers' and 'Rising Damp', we just literally cried with tears of laughter and could barely breathe. I can recall thinking omg we need to calm down thinking of mums surgical site/healing but we didn't πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜‚, I'm glad we didn't, no harm done, the opposite in fact.

Very special memories and I think laughter/humour has surely got to be the best medicine, or the best supplement to it! It's definitely helped me in some darker moments.

Thanks again StarryEyed, not for just reading my story but doing so several times to 'feel' it. You're a good soul with a very kind heart ❀️. I thank my lucky stars for the very special people like you and @WelshBlue.

@StarryEyed Lol, I'm doing patterns, not sparring, that's safer, less likely to get my own butt whooped.

@StarryEyed … enjoy the wedding 😊 And apologies … to answer your question, no losing those first lot of fingers wasn't the reason I stopped working. Lost those on a Friday, discharged myself on the Saturday, was driving on the Sunday. Back to work after a month (which wasn't my best idea ever lol)

A few accidents later saw debillitating Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue and the manifestation of PTSD … which were all the reasons I stopped working. The ' experts' reckon my body and brain couldn't take any more trauma so came out in those ways ?

Now I've got fibro's nastier big brother so the future is whatever fate throws at me. Can't change it, so no point stressing about it 😏

@Santosha12 … awww shucks. Always easy to be nice to nice people.

And yep like we've said before - Music and the darkest humour … keep me sane, even if people think I'm ever so slightly weird

I noticed the posts about make-up … my wife swears by Boots Β£10 Tuesday … when they sell products for ummm Β£10 (Don't do what she did last week - moan there was no deals. Until I pointed out it was Friday

@luvpink I loooove Boots. We don't have it here, but I spent a lot of time there when I was visiting Norwich. Fantastic place. Great prices and great products. Lucky you! ...My favorite t-shirt is lemon yellow, and I wore it today, thinking of you. ...I'm one size too big to wear my colored pants, which are mauve, dark purple, indigo blue and rust. I adore them all, and they're a great incentive to pare down a size. I hope your pants are all you dream of 😊

@Santosha12 yes, the weather is supposed to be perfect tomorrow with sunny skies and mid 20s. .…I'm sure your Mom would be very proud and honoured that you are trying to emulate her - the highest form of flattery. ...Oh yes if it weren't for humour, what the heck is the point??? 😁

@SheffieldMan1976 Well then, I hope you whoop the bum of your imaginary opponent πŸ’ͺ🏼πŸ₯‹πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ˜†

@Bluebell21 thank you! I'm still struggling with styling my hair, but I'll wake up super early to tackle that. Fingers crossed!!

@WelshBlue oh dear! I'm sorry you've got so much to cope with. I'd love to talk more about that. Will tag you in a thread I've been wanting to start precisely about this subject soon. ❀️

Thank you Darling @Santosha12 ❣️❣️❣️😁 I too feel we're all together in this so feel so very grateful for you.

Well everything is perfect. Just perfect. The goal was to feel pretty, not necessarily be pretty, although they may overlap. And last night I painted my toenails and cannot believe how beautiful I feel. Beautiful, not just pretty. And grounded. And centred. And peaceful. All is right with the world now. I haven't even showered yet, but I'm good to take on the world. Now I can focus on the wedding itself, on the celebration of two young people who still believe in love and marriage. That's the miracle today. 😊

The wedding celebration at the church and the reception were perfect. It was a huge wedding of about 200 people and everyone was dressed to the nines, so all my preparation was worth it. It has taken me two days to recover as it was exhausting emotionally and physically. But wow. It was SUCH fun prepping with you guys. Thanks for walking through this part of my journey together. Here are pics of the bride, my meal and me...

Wow @Starryeyed you look absolutely stunning. I especially love your eyeshadow, very flattering shade and your earrings!

Thanks for sharing your wonderful photos - OMG, that meal, my favourite is beef wellington and red wine πŸ˜‹.

I hope you're getting your equilibrium back after resting, I can imagine how that would be emotionally and physically exhausting but it sounds like it was a very beautiful day.

Thanks for letting us share your journey, it's been fun! Take good care of yourself.

Oh what a treat to read your replies πŸ₯° Truth be told, I have some yucky pics of myself too. But you don't get to see them 😁 You only get to see my best face, which is an improvement, but it's still a kick in the pants to be so far from where I want to be. So the downside of trying to feel pretty is facing why you don't feel pretty. I'm trying my hardest to embrace what I have and accept what I can't change. You know, that Serenity Prayer philosophy that is perfect for situations like this. We're always changing, so we're always challenged to adapt. I wonder how others here embrace your changing appearance?

Yes, I'm going to try to go out more. Most of what I bought was bought to dress up after the wedding too as well as to make myself a little more presentable every day. It's so much easier to curl up inside and not try to be pretty or social. One of my favourite phrases comes to mind....

Thanks again for your input. I really enjoy hearing about your journeys too. Life is so much sweeter with company. πŸ₯°

@StarryEyed you look absolutely beautiful! The brides dress is stunning. Are you feeling better after your rest? I wedding with 200 people sounds very exhausting. I put up a post earlier about your perfect bouquet of flowers and I actually really like the ones in the picture! Do you know what they are?

    Hi @Rachel_Scope πŸ‘‹πŸΌπŸ˜Š

Yes, I'm finally fully recovered this morning. A cousin picked me up at 10:30 am and I only stayed until 8, when the music started, so was home by 9. But, yes, it was still exhausting. It was sooooo worth it though to be part of this new stage in our family. This is in the line of my favourite aunt, and it is her first grandchild to get married. It was such an honour and privilege to attend.

Yes, the wedding dress was spectacular. It was made for her in Madrid. It was like a fashion show to see everyone dressed to the hilt. I am nowhere near as beautiful as most people who were there, but it really doesn't matter to me. It's never really been of much importance to me. My priority and focus have always been my health, and I have little time, money or energy to spare on anything else. So to me, my painted toes were the highlight of the night 😁 But it is really nice to take a break from these health problems and focus on something light and simple like a makeover.

I think the big pink flower is a peony. Love your flower thread. See you there shortly! 😘❀️
