@ada afternoon, I’m good thanks just at church tending a grave
a shame about the bed, so many people think because it’s free the person receiving it should come and get it which is understandable in a way but they don’t realise most people who need stuff don’t have the means to come and collectWould be good if there was some kind of volunteer man with van. We are lucky as my Dad gets a work van, we used it several times for personal stuff. We would struggle if he didn’t have it0 -
Afternoon all!
@Ada it's always worth asking men with vans (or men with ven? Mans with vans?) if they could do things on the cheap. There's often people willing to help out for a good cause.1 -
@Albus_Scope that’s a good point. Not all men with vans are in it for the money. My Dad would happily run some stuff over for just the diesel money if he lived nearer1
-
Many years ago there was a guy down our way who'd do that sort of thing for a small donation to the charity of his choice @Albus_Scope
People just gave whatever they could afford.2 -
Well the majic sponges are not so majic after all0
-
Evening everyone I hope yous are doing good and have a nice night.
My daughters picking me up about 6 to go and see my mum for an hour. Just having my dinner the now.
@Sandy_123
Oh no that’s rubbish 🙄
@Ada
Hiya such a shame about the bed but as a few others have suggested there will be someone willing to help, what about ringing a few man with van numbers and ask. It’s worth a try. Good luck 😊

@66Mustang
Oh thanks, no wonder your feeling tired after the drive and also going to family graves can leave you feeling a bit emotionally drained.
Hope you can relax now.❤️0 -
@Lou67 I am not at all religious, don't believe any of it (but I will always stand up for peoples rights if they are religious) but when I go to a church I always feel a bit better, really hard to explain but like there is some sort of mental/physical healing aura there
Probably sounds silly1 -
@66Mustang
Oh it doesn’t sound one but silly I don’t go to mass weekly or anything, but when I do go I feel so calm and a feeling off things are going to be ok.
So I totally get what you mean 😊1 -
Evening or night all just an update, the blind man did make it home and got his food from other staff members who took it to him. There has been a complaint put through to the social services and he has been put on the vulnerable person list and a new social worker is on his case and an allotted career so his life should be a little easier now. Been busy today with ordering and delivery of food parcels for Christmas week a lot to do in a short space of time,my feet feel like they have just fell off.2
-
Oh good news @emancherry33 for the poor man
I'm glad a complaint has gone in. Did u ever get a follow up on that woman who was dying with her son0 -
@Sandy_123. Did see her 2 more times she told me she was going to tell her children as was going to the Macmillan unit as her condition went down hill suddenly,went from months to a week or two to live and she could not hide her health anymore.never meet her after that. Assumed she has passed away no new food parcel was requested.0
