@Sandy_123 yes really warm and "close" if that makes sense, I think we are getting you rain in a few hours though, we have a storm warning
@Lou67 I don't usually drink much water but trying to drink more, could have easily reached for a can of Coke but decided to go for the water ha ha1 -
Well done for the water option. I only drink water after coffee. I probably have a litre a day water roughly. With meals also. Even if out.1
-
@66Mustang I always describe it as "close" and all my friends look at me strangely! Haha.
I was very good this morning. I ordered two books for gifts for friends and restrained myself to only buying one for me 🤣2 -
@Hannah_Scope glad someone else uses that description!!
Maybe you could also read the friends books before you send them off!!!!0 -
I've decided to head to the village just waiting for bus0
-
@66Mustang Hmmmm
I think I'll definitely borrow them off them! haha

@Hannah_Scope he he
My brother is round the house doing paperwork for his mortgage
He gets angry at paperwork and angry with financial stuff and angry when it comes to stressful stuff
So triple angry
Staying well out the way0 -
Dad has just got back from the (Turkish) barber
They put tar in his ears and nose, wait for it to dry, then rip it out and it takes all the hairs out
Sounds painful!!!!!!!!
Apparently the Turkish barbers do a great job though0 -
Tar? Are you sure it wasn't wax @66Mustang? it's quite a common hair removal option
My brother has had it done before.
I'd stay well out the way too! Well maybe after taking a cuppa in. Hope it goes well for him! Mortgages at the moment are a minefield.0 -

Yeah, it's a way to remove hair from the ears and nose. They sometimes use it on the back of the neck too!1

Afternoon all.
It's scorchio here.0 -
Does anyone know if it's normal / expected to tip the driver in the UK when you get takeaway food delivered?0
-
@66Mustang I've been wondering the same thing recently! But I do always wonder, how much of that tip would they get? As it's online, do they pay fees on it? Does the restaurant get it and divide it?0
-
Good points @Hannah_Scope!
I was thinking about giving them a couple of pounds when they come to the door but didn't want to offend them or make them think I was weird.
We don't tend to tip other delivery drivers, like Amazon, I guess.Though we did tip the furniture delivery men quite a lot (tens of pounds) once when they built our furniture for us. I reckon they keep it and it's a nice little (big) earner on the side for them!!0 -
Haha, I think they'd like it. We order from the same places often with takeaway treats and we have the same few drivers in the area for deliveries. So we offer them bottled or canned drinks, last summer we were standing chatting and eating ice lollies
We give out tins of biscuits and sweets round Christmas as a thank you too

I've not long heard thunder rolling! Exciting!0
-
I'm ready for it!1

It's grey and stuffy here now @66Mustang,I've spent half the day watering the borders.
Everything's dry and crispy, plants that normally flower until the end of July are half dead.
