Morning all!
Happy Birthday @Lou67!!! Have a lovely day and enjoy tomorrow's lunch
@Beaver79 My plans were doing very little as possible! I did have to go take some returns to be dropped off at a local shop but other than that .
Speaking of stripping wallpaper my brother hasn't stripped the wallpaper from his new house he got last year. He's inviting us all over to help cause it's a pretty dull task, he decided to call it a "stripper party" Hmmmmm1 -
Smart brother @Jimm_Scope happy birthday @Lou67
I've got a appointment at library this afternoon for 2 hours to search family tree and records with help of an assistant. Looking faward to that1 -
Oh very cool @Sandy_123, my partner uses Ancestry to keep track of her family. It's fairly popular in the States where she's from, cause many people are descended from immigrants so it's nice to discover your heritage. She and her mum want to visit Naples someday because that's where their family records stop, many records in Naples haven't been digitised so you have to go there yourself to see the records.
Someone in my family does it but I'm not overly fussed about it really. I understand why people enjoy it though.0 -
Oh I'm excited, all my family are from Newcastle upon tyne so will be in their records and war records. Who knows what might be lurking0
-
Thanks everyone for your best wishes ❤️0

Oh no, @Sandy_123 is a Geordie while half of my family are Mackem.
I'm afraid this means I must now feel animosity towards you, is what I might say if I cared at all about the cities rivalry, which I don't.0 -
Happy birthday @lou67 I hope you have a great day.
@Sandy_123 that sounds really interesting, hopefully you discover lots of new things.1 -
Did you get very far @66Mustang with yours0
-
@Sandy_123 I used Ancestry and got back to the 1800s with certainty and back to the 1400s but some of the results that far back were disputable, one of my ancestors apparently had a son at age 60
-
I'm surprised you could go that far back! Records can be very iffy pre-1700s, even then records only really started to be kept in the 1800s for many when the census began.
Before that you just have to hope they had recorded births, marriages and deaths in the local church. And that those records weren't lost or destroyed.0 -
Yeah that makes sense Jimm as I used the B/M/Ds from the local churches - family were from Norfolk and didn’t move for ages0
-
Thanks everyone for the lovely birthday wishes it’s so nice of you all.
I have been spoiled I feel very lucky ❤️0 -
