Hi every one I ended up in crisis again last night so the crisis team admitted me to the mental health unit in a and e and the only bed they had was in a hospital nearly 2 hours from my home I’m so down I’m back in hospital .

They had no choice but to put me in a private hospital which I was told the nhs don’t like to pay for so they will move back to a local hospital ASAP soon as a bed comes free .

My room is very nice the patients aren’t loud and the doors aren’t constantly slamming so far unlike the other hospital I was in but you can tell the staff aren’t bothered bout there jobs here so far all the staff I have met don’t seem no where near as caring as the staff at the other hospital I was at .

It’s too far for my partner to come visit each day I’m so down every one when will my mental illness get better .

Sorry to hear you're back in hospital again Cupcake, especially one so far away.  Are they making any sort of plan to change treatment, meds, etc or have you just got to wait for now?

I'm sorry to hear you've been placed in a hospital further away this time @cupcake88, but hopefully you'll be able to move to a closer one soon. Finding the treatments that work for you can be a slow process, but hopefully they'll be able to offer you the level of support you deserve. How was last night? Did you manage to get some sleep?

Hi @cupcake88 - I hope you managed to get some sleep last night, & hopefully there might be some better nurses on today too. It can't be easy being so far away from home & your partner, but so long as you get the help you need that's what matters. There's no reason to suppose that you won't improve, so hang onto that thought my friend, x

Hello my friends things have gone from bad to worst I’m now under a section and being detained . This time round it’s the patients that are all nice and the day staff are just horrible to the patients . Considering this is suppose to be a private hospital it’s shocking how horrible and bored the day staff seem .
I saw the doctor today and she made no sense either I feel like I have no idea to what the plan is any more .

the staff proper speak down to you it’s horrible x

    Hi @cupcake88

It's lovely to hear from you but I'm sorry to hear the staff at your hospital aren't the best  :(  Do you have a Named Nurse you feel comfortable talking to?  If not, bear in mind, you can always ask to speak with the Ward Manager if you feel the care from your nurses isn't conducive to you getting better.

Am I right in thinking that it might be a Section 2 you've received which is for 28 days to assess your mental health and organise a treatment plan for going forwards?  I know these things can be tough so maybe try to look at this time as an investment in your emotional wellbeing and happiness for when you get back home  <3  I'll keep my fingers crossed for a bed coming available in a hospital closer to where you live asap.

Keep us posted and remember we're always about if you need anyone to talk to.

Hi @cupcake88 - I'm so sorry that things aren't great....I would go with Cher's suggestion to speak with someone.
I would think you also have a right to find out from the Dr about your treatment plan; you are an equal partner in working with your Drs, so should be both informed & involved, I would think. @Cher_Scope do you know more about this aspect, please?
It is strange that a private hospital has such poor staff; are the night time nurses any better?
I really am so sorry. Will you have to stay in this hospital, or do you know if you'll still be able to move to one closer to home if a bed becomes available? You know our thoughts are with you; stay strong my dear friend, xx

@chiarieds hi my good friend I have been speaking to staff all day and you can tell they didn’t want to be talking to me . I rang the buzzer in my room and got told off for it .

there apparently want the old medication out my system before they start a new one or they might choose not to start a new one and this stay would of been a waste of time .

I’m gonna call the mental health advocates tomorrow there be On my side . This place has like the worst reviews and I agree with them .
I have been told I’m to watch tv in the lounge and talk to other patients and leave my room but I’m scared . It doesn’t help that I’m so far away from home .

thanks so much to my friends on here for all your support x

Hi @cupcake88 - I'm pleased you can call the mental health advocates; you need someone who will understand how all this must be making you feel. It's awful you have ended up in such a poor hospital. Try & have a restful night, & please let us know how you get on after ringing the advocates. Gentle hugs, xx

Absolutely.  Procedures may vary dependent on trust/healthcare provider but in my former workplace patients would collaborate with the clinician's in putting together a care plan and crisis/contingency plans for discharge.  This was generally done through speaking with their Named Nurse about what they hoped to achieve from their inpatient stay, and also by participating in multi-disciplinary weekly meetings with their consultant/doctor, team leaders and anyone else involved in their care.

If this hasn't been discussed already, maybe bring up how you can get involved in shaping your care at a time you feel comfortable @cupcake88 Also, getting in touch with an advocate is a brilliant idea.  I can understand how leaving your room can feel daunting so take little steps, as and when you feel confident, and who knows some of the other patients may be good to chat to.  I hope you slept well, take care and sending lots of virtual support  <3

Hi every one I spoke to a mental health advocate she was really helpful . I had visitors yesterday and more today which has kept me going . I just feel like I’m bothering the staff constantly. They never have time for a chat even last night when I woke up in a panic even tho they were all sat down watching telly they claimed they was to busy to have a chat with me .

This hospital is a disgrace I can’t believe there allowed to be open . The last hospital I was at I found it to be chaotic but the staff were amazing this time round it’s less chaotic but horrible staff .

You can just tell they want there money and want to go home you can just tell they don’t want to be working here.

Being on a section and far from home is just petrifying x

Hi @cupcake - I'm sorry it seems like the nurses remain unhelpful. Very pleased you have had visitors & that you spoke to a mental health advocate. Did the advocate make any good suggestions? Have you seen the Dr again; if so was she more helpful, & did she discuss your treatment plan?
I'm sorry you feel so bad being far from home; it certainly can't be easy. Take care, & talk to us all when you can, xx

@cupcake88 How's it going with you?  Are you settling in on the ward a bit more or is there any news of a possible date to transfer somewhere more local?  Sending lots of warm wishes your way.

I have started my appeal to get off a section and be a voluntary patient that way I have more freeDom . I spoke to a solicitor today the advocate helped me with and there going to go ahead with a tribunal next week .

There’s also no beds in my local area still . I’m trying my best to comply other wise they can force medication on me.
