Regarding back payment I'm sure people wouldn't be pleased if it worked the other way and you got a lower award so they took money off you that had been overpaid it works both ways1

Once payment is made it takes 3-5 working days to go into your bank.

Under normal times that's correct but because of the backlogs some people (not everyone) have received money owed if their new award is higher, even if it's a review started by DWP.

Hi there Annatt!!
After state pension age you can opt for Attendance Allowance or stay on your current PIP award. It’s very important that this award is up to date as it’s likely to be the one that you’ll be on for a long time. I am in the exact same situation as you and spoke to the DWP in February this year about this as was concerned about the drop in income.
Hope that you get a good outcome.Annatt said:My review form was back in October 2021. Keep getting extensions by text and extention letter extending to 2023. (I retire mid 2023)
Problem is health condition has worsened to include problems with mobility which is not included in my current claim but DWP has been informed some months ago in a letter with medical evidence.
Contacted DWP by phone only to be told there is a backlog and I would need an assessment and my pending retirement will not be an issue?
In the meantime on on standard rate only for care and can't afford the the equipment needed in my home to assist me. Has anyone any advice?

Transferring from PIP to AA doesn't seem logical to me especially if you're claiming the mobility part of PIP because there's no mobility part to AA.

Hi there, I am not sure where to ask my question, if I can add it here or not, so I hope this question is picked up. I wanted to ask for any new info on PIP reviews. My PIP review was due in July 2022 and I called them in September 2022 as I needed to update them with new info about my condition getting worse. I am on the lower level but should qualify for the maximum amount. They told me to rather wait until the review form to arrive and they said it would arrive in a month or 2.
I received it on 19 Dec 2022 and they acknowledged it was received it in the allocated time.
My PIP award was due to end in March 2023 which has come and passed and I still have not heard from them. They had said not to do anything but they may contact me by phone or letter for more info if necessary, or they may want to see me.
I did let them know in the review forms that my condition had worsened and sent in all the doctors reports. I am wondering what is going to happen now as it is now the middle of April 2023.
Does anyone know if they have caught up, will I hear from them? Do I contact them? I am not sure what to do. Is anyone else in the same situation? Will this drag out for another 3 months or longer? It is very stressful waiting.
Many thanks to anyone who can help with an answer : )0 -
@deelee there are very long delays with reviews and change of circumstances decisions. We have some members that are still waiting 18 months after returning their form.Your timescale of 3 months really isn't long at all. Most people have assessments which are mostly by telephone but some are face to face and video call. If one is needed you will be contacted in due course. In the meatime all you can do is wait, your current PIP award will continue until a decision made.1

Thanks @poppy123456 for replying to my question. I have no time scale, I am just taking a wild guess that it may take 3 months.... I have not heard from them since December 2022 and as March 2023 has come and gone, I was not sure if they would just stop paying me or not in April 2023 and was wondering if I needed to call them. Thank you.0

34 weeks is quite quick in comparison to a lot of members here who've been waiting well over 1 year. Some have been waiting 18 months. I wouldn't expect the call centre staff will have any idea of the backlogs.
