@luvpink it was a lot to take in all in one go. But I'd say she wasn't aggressive, just trying to show she means business. We'll be posting a (politically neutral) breakdown soon and Holly has kindly created a Green Paper discussion too which we can update as and when.

- People with "severe, life-long conditions with no prospect of improvement" will never need reassessment
As someone who’s disability is life long. I’d welcome this. I wonder if this would stop these claim reviews too.

Applications may rise, but the toughened requirements will mean less will be accepted - and more existing claimants will lose out at their next review.

I'm on contribution based ESA because I worked all my life but became chronically ill and unable to work but sounds like they are going to take that off me. My PIP at the minute is only lower level daily care (because she lied on the report and tribunal treated my like a criminal and wouldn't listen to what my condition is) which is made up of small amounts of low number so I might as well give up now because there is no point to anything anymore.

I was actually thinking the same thing . It is a bit confusing so not sure if I’m being tricked tbh 😀. The question is what’s their definition of lifelong conditions etc ?

Looks like you'll be protected until 2029/2030, and then they even speak of transitional arrangements potentially being put in place beyond that.

Well I just checked my PIP award and I did get a singular 4 in my daily living, so as long as I get the same score in my next review then I should be fine I think?
I do get CB ESA, so looks like i'm going to be forced over to UC which I'm not happy about.

For current LCWRA claimants, the amount will be frozen, meaning there will be no reduction or increase linked to inflation, so the cash amount remains unchanged. However, for new claimants, LCWRA will be reduced by £188 per month.

I'd assume not. Any existing awards that have more than 4 points in a descriptor in the care element definitely shouldn't have to. But Kendall mentioned nothing about those with existing awards without 4 points in a care activity

I hope so. I'm not really sure why I wasn't assessed for PIP since I have physical conditions that count as disability. Is it because I have mental health issues too?

I was just reading from 2026 new claimants will need to score at least 4 points in one category to qualify for pip what about people who’s pip is up for a reassessment?

I consider mine( ME FIBROMYALGIA) lifelong as there’s no cure or treatment but would they class that as lifelong ? That’s the thing

You have to apply for PIP yourself. Make an appointment with the Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) and they'll help you as the forms are insanely complicated.

Will contributory esa (I am in the support group) be merged with JSA? I know Income related ESA was due to be merged with UC

I am currently being migrated to UC with protection. It's due to be finalised on April 5th. Will i still get what I would have been entitled to if this announcement was to have not taken place?
