Why do you think you'll lose it?

This is only the green paper, a wish list if you like!! Some or usually most of it will get ameneded or watered down because of pressure from mp's, charities etc. Hopefully the 4 point thing will be changed as it affects so many of us, myself included.

I think that the DWP are now more open to recording assessments, due to the level of tribunals they'll be going through in the future due to the 4 criteria becoming so contentious.

I used to think like that but in Scotland for ADP we are asked to confirm and sign that all medical records can be accessed. In my experience it helped my claim. I did used to photocopy and send lots of stuff and possibly still would but I think being able to see the timeline and progression of both my physical and mental deterioration helped. Also that there was agreement between clinicians about my diagnosis and prognosis.

In the Green Paper (Recording Assessments) they use the word 'may', when she (Liz Kendall) spoke in Parliament I'm sure she said 'will' be recorded.

I assume that nobody will be writing to all PIP recipients to set our minds at rest with regards to whether any of the changes announced yesterday will affect our benefits and we will just be left in limbo for the next few months ?

Your point about benefits being unclaimed is a good one. That has never been touched upon or mentioned by any sides of the Government. Some people are just not able to make a claim due to poor mental health, no access to computers, housebound etc. Pension credit and disability benefits are amongst those affected. Instead they focus on benefit fraud crackdowns and sanctioning?

I responded to the green paper and made it clear in the question regarding the 4 points that there isn't any support they can offer me that will help me or my health condition after they rip away my PIP and my Carer . I also stated how assessors rarely give 4 points even when they should .

What support can they possible give someone who has degenerative or life long issues that will only ever get worse . Taking away my money won't make me magically better and be able to work . What on earth are they thinking ?!

Are you able to give the reference number in the green paper so that I can read it for myself/

What about an increase for Carers allowance ?

My wife works for over 50 hours per week at just over £1 per hour !

The only mention in the green paper is :

    Unpaid Carers

The government will consider the impacts on benefits for unpaid carers as part of its wider consideration of responses to the consultation as it develops its detailed proposals for change.

I guess the lesser of two evils but evil all the same . They’ve not only kept the Tory cuts but increased them as they needed a bit extra cash . I wonder how far they would have gone had Ellen Clifford lost in court ? In the long run I fear this will discriminate against ppl with illnesses who can’t work but fit the pip criteria. But of course more ppl will apply for pip as they’ll need to or be destitute. I reckon it’ll cost them more in the long run.

I think a lot of people are struggling to understand what has been announced and no doubt the genuine fear of how we are going to to try and cope and manage in the future has impacted us too I personally cannot control bowels and have a closmat toilet fitted and I have a bath board and rails fitted too so these class as aids I guess I am still waiting on my review from December been through two lots of tribunals already dreading having to do a third one so in the future if you hear of someone having a poonami in the job centre it will probably be me I would like to work but what employer could tolerate the mess

Yes it’s so short sighted isn’t it. It’s like they’re deluding themselves. All serious conditions are going to get worse of you remove money and the right for a carer? So you will have more strains on hospital services and GP’s. The four point fiasco has to go. I actually get four points and am on enhanced for daily living but I can see that someone may have more points than me in 2/3’s overall?

It’s the definition of ‘Cutting off one’s nose to spite their face’.. it’s going to lead to more sickness and disability not less.
