Further research I have done has unearthed this, those that look like the may lose the daily living allowance may have some help in the transition period, see 2nd para below:

This change will be introduced through primary legislation. It will apply to new claims and for existing people who claim, future eligibility will be decided at their next award review. This change means that people could lose entitlement to the daily living element of PIP and potentially other entitlements linked to this award.

The Green Paper is consulting on whether those who lose entitlement need any support and what this support could look like โ€“ for example transitional protection.

    His Summerlove

Will all existing claimants be automatically transferred over from 2028? I was told I wouldn't be assessed again for ESA because of my condition and given a 10 year award. I know that'll be scrapped now.

I'm presuming it won't apply to recently won tribunals as my husband won his a month ago but he only got 3 max in one category for Daily Living, although 24 points over Daily/Mobility. DWP rang last Friday and said the backpay would be paid and the award is indefinite but yet to know how many year. Awful these changes if they do go ahead. Been so stressful and it was taken off my husband back in Nov 23 so big amount of backpay.

Thank you, thatโ€™s helped me feel slightly less anxious, for now. I do hope these are watered down significantly and I keep trying to remember that this is a green paper.

Thanks, and it's very true, we have to stick together. This forum has been a God send for me and I'm sure it is for many other people.

    Thank you โค๏ธ

It's been made harder as I discovered my GP and the Hospital hid a referral I should have had to a specialist Neurosciences Hospital in 2022!

I am guilty of not challenging the scores I received but was glad to get enhanced. I didn't want to 'poke the bear'.

Also the DWP never apologised for accusations that I had inherited all my mums money after she died. After an investigation we were found innocent but never contacted. We only found out during a routine call to UC. Disgusting!

The DWP and empathy do not go together

This is the first time that I have actually looked at my scoring from my PIP assessment, two years ago - up until now, I just saw the overall score (20) for Daily Living and 22 for mobility and for 10 years.

and was just grateful that I was to be given PIP -

But now โ€“ I can see 4 for preparing food and 4 for mixing with other people.

Totally ignoring the fact that I cannot get dressed on my own โ€“ Due to arthritis in my shoulders and also the fact that I have Parkinsons.

    Seems totally wrong to me.

My pip is due for reassessment Sept next year.

I scored 3 for bathing last time.

I thought I was elligeable for 4 and also higher scores for other daily living activities but I didn't challenge it as i was awarded high rate.

At my next reassessment form I will go into a lot more detail and get a more detailed supporting letter from my carer.

We have to fight this because our very existence depends on it.

I wouldn't trust this government as far as I could throw them. All we can do is push back on these proposals. Nearly everyone I've spoken to personally is going to be affected by these changes in one way or another.๐Ÿ˜”
